Student loans are done. My car is paid off. Im renting so I have no other debt. I have about $26K from all my savings sources. Where do I go from here? And no I don't have a retirement fund or anything, but I dont trust that system anymore. My work doesnt pay into a 401K either.

Maybe I should go travel or something. I'm almost 40.

I'm in about the same situation and about the same amount of savings. Decided to try using about $5000 to buy various best dividend paying stocks & ETFs I could find. We'll see what happens, I expect about $100 payout monthly from that for a start.
>>
>>62385236
Buy a stock that has stable overhead and good fundamentals, then sell covered option contracts that are far out the money to collect a free premium.

> I expect 24% dividend yield
Who's gonna tell him?
>>
>>62387004
Um, tell what? There's stocks and ETFs that have been paying out more or less the same dividend rate for months even over a year now. Their stock prices seem stable too. That's what I based my purchases on.
>>62387000
Sorry but no idea what any of that means or how to do it.
>>
>>62385236
The ultimate fuck you to the jews and the system is to remain debt free and to stack cash and gold.

OP said he does not trust the stock market system, why would you suggest the one thing he preemptively said no to?
>>
>>62385236
>I'm almost 40.
Grim lmao. I would've said you accomplished something if you were like 25. At this rate you'll be working until you're at least 70.

Go to Schwab, Fidelity, or Vanguard and open a Roth IRA and a brokerage account. Put however much you can into your Roth (there are annual contribution limits, don't remember what they are exactly, somewhere around $10k iirc). Then put all but $5k into the brokerage account. In each account buy whatever their in-house S&P 500 fund is.

Going forward, every month take whatever money you have in excess of $5k and split it evenly between the Roth and Brokerage accounts. The Roth is completely tax free, the brokerage account is subject to capital gains taxes, but the minimum cap gains tax bracket is 0% up to $98k/y so it's pretty close to tax free for regular individuals. The usefulness of the brokerage account is here are no hurdles for getting your money out of it since it's not a retirement account. You can just sell some stock and transfer it to your bank account. Or if you go with Schwab they are also a FDIC bank so you can just sell some stock and immediately spend it with your Schwab checks or Schwab debit card.

No I'm not doing any retirement or investment shit. It's all a scam. And I trust my money more in my business than propping up someone else's.

don't listen to that faggot. congrats on getting your loans paid. feels good to be a free man. now you can start investing. I would advise you to browse /smg/ and /pmg/ everyday. they have conflicting views, but youll be around guys who will only eat white rice just so they can buy more micron stock or gold.

I started late due to my family stealing my student loans. So never finished college and was heavily in college debt. Just finished paying it off this year. So im ten years late in being able to save.
>>
>>62388194
To add, I had more, but I took most of my savings and paid off the rest of my loans. That's why Im debt free today.

>give the jews a cut of my gains?
>What a scam, I'd rather make no gains!
Keep dealing in the world then. Funny that you think you have a choice when the game was rigged from the start.
I guess just put it in a CD like all the other scared money middle aged financial illiterates. That whopping extra 1% apy more than you'd get from an ordinary savings account is where the REAL money's at. If you full port all 26k you'll make a whole $1000 in just a short year's time! I mean you'll be getting outpaced by inflation and actually be losing money but hey that's just the cost having zero risk tolerance.

Neither is gold. You'll learn that soon enough.
If you really think the whole system is going down then the proper things to be investing in are ammo, food and clean water, and pussy. The real currencies of any potential bugout scenario.

gold and silver has been money since the beginning of time
>>
>>62388480
No that's drinking water and pussy actually. Ammo's a new one though, I'll give you that.
I own some gold too man, just don't over leverage into it. People who tell you the shit you just told me are just trying to use you as exit liquidity.
>>
>>62388524
No one wants water and pussy 24/7. That's the point of metals.
>>
>>62388532
So start generating some compounding interest to buy more gold with? Not fucking rocket science man. You're opinion on fiat's value is irrelevant when you need it to buy your precious gold in the first place.
I'm telling you, you can't afford to be a gold baggy right now, you should be focusing on aggressive growth. 5xing your tiny gold bag over the next 30 years isn't gonna net you any more financial security than you already have.
Actually on second thought, just keep buying gold. Pumping my bags will end the fed or something. Totally. They want you to own nothing but you'll own some shiny rocks. The jews are gonna be so fucking pissed when they find out you outsmarted all of them in one fell swoop, just you wait.
>>
>>62388653
>compounding interest to buy more gold with
I hate usury
>>
>>62388657
And yet, usury continues happening. Curious, ain't it? Play the game or get left behind. Choice is yours.
>>
>>62388657
Don't listen to these faggots suggesting to gamble in the stock market. From my experience, the moment I started buying gold, and in particular wearing 24k gold, my networth has increased. The bible is right about one thing and that's usury should be avoided. Combine that with wearing 24k gold and you will accumulate a lot of luck and wealth in your life.
>>
>>62388666
cause jews still exist.
>>
>>62388671
Well I guess we could just kill them all. Has anyone ever tried that? We might just be onto something here.
>>
>>62387754
Um, so I'm supposed to sit on a stock that pays barely any or no dividends at all and hope it goes up? Um, nope, I'll just take the dividend paying ETF road which at least guarantees some dividend income along the way even if the stock drops or stays steady. Or get the bonds based ETFs if you want a rock steady stock price with dividends over years.
>>
>>62385236
>I only have $26k to my name and I'm 40
>Should I travel?
>>
>>62389800
Bonds don't pay dividends, they pay interest which is taxed as income. Qualified Dividends have a much lower tax rate (0% up to $98k/y, then 15% up to $450k/y).
>>
you're starting at zero. if you dont do a budget you need one. you've got a not much time as you lost the two most important decades for compounding and a long way to go for retirement. if you dont get a 401k setup an roth IRA with one of the big brokers and max it, 7k this year and gains are tax free, big win. Setup auto reoccurring transfers, if you can max it great if not do something.

the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago the next best time is today.

I wouldn't be upset if you want to travel the 26k is not the important part. its that your current system left you with 26k and no debt which is great at 40. the system needs to evolve with you to get you to the next level
>>
>>62389815
What is wrong with what I said?
>>
>>62390669
>compound interest and iras

I'm not going to play that game anymore. I'm not going to fund the new world order. I'm going to pursue happiness my way.
>>
>>62390735
It's not wrong, merely egregiously retarded.
>>
>>62390878
explain
>>
>>62385236
Retirement fund is not optional unless you plan to an hero. Because you are already 40, 20% to retirement (Roth IRA until it maxes out, then traditional IRA if possible, then taxable.) Keep the 26k for emergencies, Start saving for a down payment so you can get away from renting. If you don't want to do that put that money in mutual funds in your taxable account. Invest in decent mutual funds or index funds. You have finished the first leg of the journey to wealth, but you have to keep going.
>>
>>62390916
fuck the jewish investment system
>>
>>62390737
Why even ask for advice if you're so dead set on continuing to be the broke retard that got you in this situation boss?
>>62390882
You're a broke retard that can't afford luxurious vacations boss.
>>
>>62390919
The jewish investment system is going to be fucking you, dry. Go to the social security site if American, see how much they are going to give you per month at 67, and realize you will have to try to live on that when prices will be roughly double what they are today.

Or, just fuck up your life, no one is going to stop you. Yolo.

Im 34, no debt, paid off used car, 60k, 5k in retirement, $2400 in stock(just started) and moving to start at the bottom in an apprenticeship hopefully by 35 and union. Will need roommates starting off.

OP im stressing the fuck out, I think you should as well. Dont be my 60 year old 2 job retail retarded coworker who thinks starting a 401k at 58 is winning.
>>
>>62390947
being old is not winning anyways
>>
>>62390954
but you're winning if you're not in debt regardless
