Engineer here. Why cant I just find a job were they pay attention to wether I finish the tasks on time(and do a high quality job of course)? Why do I always have to jump through mental hoops for my non engineering managers.

I cant tell u how many times I have worked 80 hours weeks, got something to work that was borderline impossible to work and made the company money just to get bersted for the most trivial shit like a ossciaonal typo in an email or me sending 2-3 short teams messages in a row instead of one streamlined message. Its not like this is an email to our clients, its a fucking teams message between coworkers. I cant fucking do this anymore, I never had any problem with my more senior engineers or coworkers in general but there is always a MBA asshole manager that does this shit to me. Its been going on for 10 fucking years now. The jobs that had cool managers went under. Is this what it takes to run a successful comapny? Tell yoyr engineers to stop trying to do good technical work and focus on superficial appearances? If i open up my own comapny one say will I turn into what I hate? Is this simply the natrual conclusion to white collar work?

You're trying to do something you've never been asked to. Chill the fuck out bro.
>>
>>62393647
Engineers are adult losers.
>>
>>62393655
No sane human being can decipher what these MBA nazis actually want u to do

Very true. I guess we deserve it. Who's not a loser though beaucse the majorty of the popualtion makes less than us and has an even less respectable line of work..

when they learn to bottle joy it will taste just like this

I have the same problems in medicine, including the Teams message bullshit. I have been trying to work up the courage to off myself but I can't bring myself to pull the trigger (literally). I just want out.
>>
>>62393681
Doctor here, how the fuck can you get complaints about team messages? Any medical staff that takes it work seriously doesn’t give a fuck about that kind of stuff (not that anybody should).
>>
>>62393647
>I have worked 80 hours weeks
I have seen a lot of coworkers who worked themselves to burnout, but they were not asked to do it. In the end they might feel like they are being the unrecognized hero (and tired), but other people won't notice because nobody asked for one or wasn't really necessary.

Your situation/responsibilities might be much more different than those i've seen though, and that overtime work might be very valuable to your company
>>
We unfortunately live in a society so when people stop giving a shit about each other it creates bad societies and bad work environments. It's why so many giga corps care so much about the vibes in their office, they would rather get rid of a 10x worker who brings down the morale of a hundred other employees than deal with it. All you can do is your best to make it a good work environment for yourself and teammates OP and leave for greener pastures if management doesnt share your style.

Office staff sending me time-sensitive messages about patients instead of coming and talking to me like they should in person because I try to not check Teams. That and the fact I have to be on Tiger and check my personal cell phone regularly for incoming calls and texts.

Attending docs sending me messages asking me to do their work for them and see patients in their schedule so that they can come in late and leave early to drive to the city to fuck divorced men to get back as their ex-husbands.

It's not enough that I see the most number of patients in the office alongside one other guy. I have to do the tasks of others and make the phone calls that the nurses should be making because they're women and they don't work. All of this on top of listening to fat fucks all day not be able to answer yes or no questions. I ask someone about chest pain and they start telling me about how they have chronic knee pain after bumping into a cabinet at the age of 12. And somehow I have to cram all of this into an impossibly small window so that I can get to the next two patients waiting to see me.
>>
>>62393710
I didnt except any recognition. Instead of telling them they give me a non realistic deadline, I did what needed to be done. It wasnt 80 exactly but I worked well over 60 hours for over 3 months in a row this year and I got screamed over sending 2 short teams messages instead of 1 slightly longer sentance
>>
>>62393666
> Who's not a loser though beaucse the majorty of the popualtion makes less than us and has an even less respectable line of work..
Engineering isn’t respectable and it isn’t about money. You guys could be paid double but “engineering” is for losers. That’s all there is. It reeks of faggotry. You know this yourself but you’re an adult and you try to say the pay makes you not a loser.
It is like being a nerd, dork or geek as a kid but now you’re an adult.
Does it matter if the dorky kid has rich parents? No, still a dork.
>>
>>62393681
So its not just me? This teams shit is ridiculous right?

Me
>"hey so and so resulted in this and that..."
>"yadda yardage I forgot to mention this.."

My boss
>"you are waisting my time bombarding me with messages, work on ur communcation skills"

Of course I stopped casually messaging him but I still message everyone else like that and no one has a problem cuz no one's time is so precious that they need the 1.5 extra seconds they they spend reading my other message. Of course, I treid to do everything perfect cuz I couldn't find another job and last week I had a typo so now i might get fired for it and sadly I am not overexagurating beacuse i keep getting asscued of having bad communcatik skills and he acts like this is a hudge problem that's dragging through company down.
>>
>>62393729
It's a catch-22. You're given an impossible amount of work to complete in an unrealistic time frame and if you don't stay late to do it, you'll get grilled. They won't hesitate to replace you with a new grad or a foreigner who has a fraction of your knowledge.
>>
>>62393735
What isnt a loser? Manual labor like all the jocks from high school are doing? Funny lart is i bench more than them now cuz I can afford a good red meat diet and a gym membership and I got time to go cuz I wfh
>>
>>62393704
Modern doctors offices perhaps? My previous doctor was a boomer, probably retired now, I highly doubt his office has any of this nu-doctor stuff. He had the most seniority too. The modern workforce is so soi and cucked.
>>
>>62393647
>trivial shit like a ossciaonal typo in an email or me sending 2-3 short teams messages in a row instead of one streamlined message.
anon you need to reverse engineer the situation
stop working so many hours, but start buttering up the management with the stupid shit they want
you will probably get promoted
>>
>>62393739
I haven't gotten yelled out for typos or sending too many messages but I did get chewed out for sending someone a message like I was trained to do. Part of my job is screening for potential problems and informing the appropriate person when it might become his or her problem. One day, someone just yelled at me and told me that he doesn't want to fucking hear it. Then if I stop communicating with him as he asks, that's a problem too when I don't give him a heads up about a problem heading his way.
>>
>>62393745
> What isnt a loser? Manual labor like all the jocks from high school are doing?

Did you go to school in a poor area? I have no idea what the jocks are doing but the jocks in my schools were all wealthy already.
Lol you’re coping now. You know it is true bro. Dorks nerds geeks kids = adult engineers, accountants
>>
>>62393741
Thats the thing, I DID do it and genuinely had no complaints and that was still not good enough
>>
>>62393767
God, the workplace drama is awesome. One of the best parts of working with people. People in the workplace taking the job way too seriously is so hilarious to me especially when they are in the same job.
>>
>>62393725
Okay now get back to me when u instantly repsond ti every teams message they are threatening to fire u cuz u have a typo every once in a while
>>
>>62393756
Okay now try having that screaming person be ur manager and not just a coworker. Welcome to my life. The worst part is that back in the day i would jsut leave but theres no were to go now and they might fire me and bascially put a scarlet letter on my career
>>
>>62393769
I've been directly promoted 3 times by being more competent and caring more than my coworker who was more senior. It's worked out well for me so far
>>
>>62393664
MBA here, what we want is simple.
Don't be autistic.
If you are autistic, shut the fuck up, stop posting shit, stop emailing customers, and if an MBA tells you something then listen and learn. You have nothing to contribute except what you make, we don't need your life story or your gay ass futurama references.
>>
>>62393778
Im the only person in my department who worked over 40 let alone the entire 40 a week and im about to get fired from a PIP cuz I dont have addiwuate communcation skills beacuse I somwtimes have typos on non crucial interoffice emails
>>
>>62393777
> Okay now try having that screaming person be ur manager and not just a coworker.
Sounds fun, I would enjoy it. I got yelled at very loudly at work once and I burst out laughing hysterically and he got even angrier. Why aren’t you laughing? It is hilarious.
>>
>>62393785
Do they teach u to grasp at straws in ur masters of bullshit degree? Of course u cant be autistic when emailing a client, let's not pretend this is about emailing clients though. If u dont want to manage autistic people then dont be an engineering manager. U MBA sure dont think those jeets u are trying(and failing) to replace us with are autistic, what does that say about u though?

Wait, let me guess, you, not u right? Cuz we all know, spacex builds their rockets using proper grammer...

Im reality, u are just jealous that we are smarter than u. Which is petty cuz that's the only thing we have on u since u make more and we weren't even trying to lord it over you. Yet u sit here and seeth and try to manipulate reality to make us look loke the bad guys. MBAs do absolutely nothing for the bottom line.
>>
>>62393778
Did you go above and beyond? I meant working normally, because some people and most people in life are just so incompetent. The guys getting angry and irritated, they aren’t more productive or doing better, they are just more emotional and think they care more.
>>
>>62393794
Bracusd this asshole can and probably will fire me and there are no fucking jobs out there right now and I didnt save enough money in my 20s cuz I thouvht I could just find a nice little job to work and work till I stroke out at work but I never realized just how toxic the MBA nazis can be. There is something wrong with them on a very visceral level
>>
>>62393725
Wow do you live in third world or something? Sending time sensitive questions about patients to anyone who isn’t the assigned consult doctor is incredibly unprofessional, not to mention the other shit in your post. Go work at a better place?
>>
corporations exist to make as much profit as possible from as few inputs as possible. that input is your salary. it doesn't matter where you work, there will always be waaaaaaay more work than people to do it. that''s just good business, it makes no sense to employ enough people to output 100% of the expected work when you can pay for 70% capacity and constantly stretch your employees to get near that 100% output.

t.management. its not that higher ups don't realize this its a simple input output question. it doesnt make any sense to spend say 500k to employ a couple more people to make 600k when instead you could not employ them, and just push your existing people to output an extra 200k. yeah there's 400k in lost profits but you came out ahead on your bottom line.

im pro owning at least one business but let's not pretend it's free money, its still a ton of work, just different work.

There's a reason that sales people make more than you autistic retards. You should be thankful that MBAs, project managers, and sales people exist. They're the only reason why you mentally ill freaks aren't in an asylum or writing open source software for free in your mommies basement. Now say "thank you Mr. MBA, for giving me the ability to earn enough money to have a roof over my head" and don't forget to tip your landlord.
>>
>>62393821
Did u read what I said? Working 80 hours a week is no problem to me, i am a team player. I get absolutely nothing for it beacuse I get berated for fucking typos after working 12-16 hour over the weeknd
>>
Whole lotta projection and larping in this thread
>>
>>62393837
Thank you Mr MBA for teaching me that my output is usless and that all I have to do to get ahead is play ur stupid games that lose the comapny money. Here I am thinking I should be a loyal worker but you people showed me its all about appearances. As a matter of fact, the more shit u do the worse it is cuz u dont have enough time to focus on appearances.

Also were is that puc from, seems like a movie I would like.

They exist anon, however you have to be exposed to those ones and then they have to want to have you (at any cost). This usually means you get to get fucked by a middleman contracting company that will have you do their work while scalping your pay. Worth it in the end, but you have to put in the time. Then you have to seek opportunities. I myself never cared about how much i made, as long as it was enough (minimalist) but I do value having the freedom to use that paid time to self-improve while benefitting the company. They have just seen a small project that will revolutionize the efficiency of their business and the best part is they wont have to pay some middleman to get it. All because I wanted to build something but needed data to play with. I get to self improve, save the company stupid amounts of money and resolve the headaches each department has. I never got a degree from college either, just followed what I was interested in. Good luck, thats how you were supposed to play the game but low IQ makes the awareness much harder to obtain.
>Reality is an IQ test
>>
OP ans the doc ITT are being taken advantage of because they're kucks and obviously have never said "no" because they lack work/life experience and are scared of losing their jobs.
Just say "no" and treat your work like something you do for X hours a day and then just leave. Your aren't there to make friends so don't do anyone any favors.
It's that easy. You retarded kucks.
>>
>>62393859
>Working 80 hours a week is no problem to me, i am a team
See, you are a total kuck LMAO
You'd rather work yourself to death rather than get 2 jobs to double your pay. Fucking autistic kuck.
>>
>>62393821
This. If 5 can do it, then 4 can.
>>
The caring about quality work is something that has to be grown out of fast if you’re in a corpo. But you only need to give vibes that your work is quality and you will be promoted. A lot of corporations would have their lunch eaten out if it weren’t for regulatory capture
>>
>>62393647

Fuck em. Quiet quit, pick a good time for an irish goodbye (like wait for jan 1 and a pto reset, take it all up front) drop an upper decker on the way out, and blow a whistle to 3rd party compliance like 4 months later when they think thy got away with shit.
