Does having a good credit score matter at all? Normies are hyper obsessed with them. The only important thing I can think of would be getting a mortgage.
>>
I have a credit score of damn near 800. It has never made any difference to anything. not even a mortgage. MAYBE you'll get 0.2 percent better rates if your credit is good. as long as your credit isn't terrible, it means absolutely nothing from what I can tell. never had any perks from having good credit.

In america it should be harder to get a credit score that's good. It's too easy all you need is two secured credit cards for a year or 6 months with $5 a month in payment and you're back above 700.

It should be even more racist and more punishing.

It means you can get a 7% mortgage instead of an 8% mortgage. A few years ago you could have gotten a 4% mortgage with shit credit.

Focus on stacking cash. Credit is pretty worthless with today's interest rates.

If it's low enough or you've declared Bankruptcy, you can't get a loan at all, even six years later with a "good" rating. But having had an 830 before going bankrupt, I can tell you that your interest rates aren't affected much, your credit limits and offers are much higher. I can also tell you that I paid off my student loan and my score dropped 30 points this month from good back to fair.
I can also tell you that in the years since I declared bankruptcy, I have saved/invested over a hundred thousand dollars and paid cash for a used car so I don't really need credit for anything other than a mortgage and I'm half-way to not even needing that.
