The only actual FUD I’ve felt about Link in 8 years was when they brought in this BUILD program. I was never interested in any sort of incentives outside of the coin, and i had zero interest in staking. I was always of the mindset that Link will go to $2,000 per coin or whatever; what the fuck do I care about getting some asshole’s project coins and increasing my net worth by 2% with it mooning. Even staking rewards I don’t give a fuck about. Although in hindsight I probably should have staked to get the extra 10% in free coins over the last few years, but I would have unstaked and sold irregardless once the price of Link got to $500 or whatever
>>
>>62417514
More like Chainlink is stealing your rewards and giving it to themselves.
>>
>>62417568
Hahaha, exactly
>>
The main reason this should sound an alarm for linkies is that there's no reason they couldn't say "actually we're shutting down staking" or "actually we're shutting down need for the $LINK token" at any time. What's actually stopping them from doing this?
>>
>>62417733
This is why I never staked. Staking came after the FTX scam. No fucking way I’m not having possession of my coins. For what? 4 measly % in rewards. You dumb motherfuckers and your staking rewards. It doesn’t fucking matter if the coin is at $5,000 and you get staking rewards cuz you are already filthy rich. I hope they seize all your shit and I’ll be at the yacht party alone with with a bunch of bitches and some /biz/ jannies
>>
>>62417778
to play devil's advocate the one way it pays is if the pool legitimately never really opens back up and being a staker winds up being extraordinarily profitable.
>>
>>62417782
I guarantee you that within 2 years all APY coming from staking will go to reserve. The writing is on the wall and it couldn't be anymore obvious.

Where is your GMX fee share? Link marines were promised 1.2%

You're still on staking v0.2 after being promised rapid, feature heavy updates for 4 years.

Now the team is telling you they are going to pocket the fees the COMMUNITY was subsidizing through BUILD.

I honestly think Sergey has a death wish.
>>
>>62417793
>Where is your GMX fee share?
buried by Hyperliquid
>>
>>62417599
an ETF isnt an endorsement of the company itself lol
>>
>>62417793
I'm not arguing the reality, the only think linkies have to hold onto is the possibility of a better future at this point. I'll also (again just playing the other side) point out the regardless of whether or not it ultimately benefits the LINK token, Chainlink is realistically one of like 5 crypto projects amongst the hundreds of "legitimate" ones that actually is seeing real adoption and has a huge use case that is surviving the infantile stages of crypto, and not just surviving but will thrive. So again, who knows if this ultimately helps the token price, but I do understand why linkies hold onto some faith still.
>>
>>62417802
GMX fee share is going to the reserve, actually.
>>
They’re switching it to Link tokens. Nice.
>>
>>62417782
It’s all push and pull. Ying yang. If you have 20 million earning you 800k (500k post tax) per year… Is life good? Absolutely. But that’s at the expense of having 20 million locked up that you can’t touch. Personally to me that’s boring as fuck and it’s too much money coming in a year where making any more money matters. You’ll probably fall into bad devices unless you have an extreme passion for something.

I’ll take the 20 mil. And wing it and save 1,000 link buried somewhere in case I fuck up. And by then link might be 10x more then what it initially was when you first sold so you’ll probably have an equal amount of money if you fuck up.
>>
>>62417782
I think the ONLY people who should stake are in the 1,000 to 3,000 stack range.

3,000 link at $1,000 is 3 million. You have no room for error here. You have about 90k coming in yearly post tax. This is great. You can NEET it up and be very aggressive in investing in your passion or whatever which will give you purpose and try to bring that 3 million up to 10 million or whatever and you’ll feel a sense of pride. But if you get clobbered investing say 60k 1 year…. It doesn’t matter cuz you got your 90k per year social security payment coming in yearly
>>
>>62417503

It's looking highly likely that staking will only be a thing for the 45M tokens already staked.
Staking is a completed system that doesn't require any further updates or any more people involved/staking

It's a fair point buuuuut think of it like you get a high yield on tcp/ip or the global water reserve, resources which are highly necessary and consistently increase in their value and what it costs to utilize them, and are not going away within your lifetime or the next 10-100+. Why even care about putting your money elsewhere? The opportunity to invest in something like Chainlink - core infrastructure with insane value capture potential, has never really existed before. The closest thing maybe would be investing in AMZN prior to cloud services, but this is actually a way bigger scale because data/compute is an infant compared to the system of MONEY.

It's an insane long play but it has legs still, given all the adoption we've seen.

I think it's a very real possibility most early linkies crash out having made nothing or lost money even after 10+ years and then we legitimately see insane levels of adoption start happening and the token price go wildly parabolic. That doesn't mean you wouldn't still have been better off selling at a $30-50 pre 2027 high, opportunity cost is real.

Adoption that has no impact on the token value whatsoever. I've been blocked twice by the Chainlink intern handling the twitter account for calling them out. Will continue to do so once I create another account. Sergey probably has a security detail like some high level politician by now.
>>
Arguably was the most logical choice in the first place. Although my God are the optics terrible. Who the fuck is running their marketing and communications.

Chris Barrett and Rory and chainlink God need to shut the fuck up desu. I still get they don't want to talk about the token which is fair enough things aren't locked in stone legally and cunts talking about other tokens do xyz need to understand the way chainlink labs operates is still centralised so they are still open to legal scrutiny.

The fact they can't say some basics like link staking next iteration is being worked on is surprising. I hate how coy they act like heh we just dump tokens on binance whoever buys it we don't know as if people didn't fund their entire company.

Governments globally are to blame allowing any token sales to not have the same protection as stocks imo. Digital commodities my ass when they can press a button and mint tokens out of thin air.

Not only are they not ending Build, they're making it all about the Link token.
Build payments and rewards used to be in member tokens, now they will either be in Link or be converted to Link.

It's right there in black and white, you illiterate brown.
>>
>>62419349
Look at our little armchair CEO over here. How's your tech company doing?
>>
>>62419676
But they're taking the rewards away from stakers. It's all going to the Reserve.

I think everyone was hoping staking and thr distrobution of protocol revenue would all be handled programmatically (Payment Abstraction seemed to be a step towards this) but instead everything is routed through Chainlink Labs.
Initially I thought the BUILD rewards would be auto-converted to LINK and then contribute to the staking APY. Instead we're stuck at Staking 0.2 and BUILD goes to Reserve. Wtf.
>>
>>62419676
Well, unless you actually receive additional LINK as a staker, it's completely irrelevant. Who knows how long they will keep this pacifier staking running anyway? They can pull the plug at any time. No consequences as it has been clear as day that this whole paper staking experiment was made up to shut up the critics. Didn't last long though...
>>
>>62419687
>they're taking the rewards away from stakers
Build rewards were never going 100% to stakers.

>It's all going to the Reserve.

>>
So the build rewards that were hyped (I remember the retard with the spreadsheet valuations lmfao) turned out to be a flop and worth pennies.
Now these literal pennies will be converted and go to the already small reserve with 0 price impact. While they put in 1 millions worth of tokens per week they still dump 8% of the supply per year.

Inb4 the sperg comes in "tokens unlocks are not sales" they create sell pressure , nigger.

Like you like to play poker or blackjack, and you are even good at these games, but you only decide to go cuz there’s some free slot play for $10 for signing up for a their casino card.

It’s like you faggots think that these build rewards would make up half your profit from investing in link. Link goes to $500 and you have 5 million dollars, and your expecting some bullshit build token to make you 2.5 million dollars also?
>>

>>
>>62419676
Build was literally start ups getting free link services (funded by the team selling link) in exchange for token supplies that may be worth something one day. It's expressly for those who couldn't afford the services, so no they won't just use link instead.
>>
>>62420825

>>
>>62420893
I didn’t invest in Link in early 2018 cuz of stupid fucking Build rewards. Were they even a thing in 2018? Or were they after the fact like 2019-20?

If I staked and had build rewards I would have given them to hookers cuz they are irrelevant to the link investment we made. In no world would any Build token or combined build tokens would have made up more than 10% of the profits we would get from holding link.

>>
>>62420922
What they're saying is that those token supplies have performed terribly and aren't even worth holding. Every single one of them. It's not a good look for the ecosystem, but the good thing is it won't affect the price because nothing does.
>>
>>62421528
Not really. They're saying that projects aren't launching native tokens any more, and so aren't eligible for the current BUILD program. So they're finding different ways to encourage growth (particularly in the very small number of projects that actually succeed) while still making sure they PAY UP.
>>
Chain Link Labs, "Our build coins aren't worth shit, so we're canceling build forever, thanks"!
>>
>>62421600
The converted proceeds still should go directly towards the ecosystem participants (ie. NOPs and stakers), not to Chainlink Labs' own personal Reserve.
CLL should be adopting a more behind-the-curtains presence but instead they route the entire network through themselves. Not really neutral.
>>

If there had actually been airdrops from every single participant then the program would have brought some relevant value to token holders instead of what, like 9 companies giving tokens long after their tokens had already followed the shitcoin chart to its completion and become totally worthless.

soon the staking program will be canceled too
and then stinkies will be out of all hope
feels good

Well the new line seems to be the price will improve when all link is circulating and the team has fully divested itself of the token. Which i don't know if it's just late stage imbecile drivel or the most brazen shill line ever attempted in history.

I was making Teagan memes at the san fran meet up in 2019. I honestly wish it was otherwise but I've wasted fucking years with link.

It’s obvious that they are paid to do this; what I don’t get is whether they’re doing it to get midwit like me to buy (and I bought without regrets), or to get dumbs to sell.
