Sure, if it all falls apart evaluations of chip companies will plummet, but that's somewhat expected regardless, where the demand will slow down eventually and things will wind down in the coming years either way. The use cases currently vary from generating content/processing information/customer support/coding/management. I'm not the target audience and haven't used the top models, so I can't speak too confidently and the usage yet, but the idea of just using a prompt to do tasks is beyond versatile for its usage. We're still in fairly early stages, so these things are still up to question, especially its economical viability when it comes to costs and returns of its usage, but operational costs would seem like something that would be improved over time.
