are the ram prices every going to come down? Maybe after the AI bubble pop?
>>62428299i want fucking SSDs to come down
Micron left the consumer ram market so even if the AI 'bubble' popsyou will still have a consumer ram shortage.
>>62428342i didn't know this? when? why?
>>62428394december. Because consumer ram isn't worth as much as HBM. They make like 12 bucks on consumer ram, they make like 78 bucks on HBM.
>>62428411damn. that sucks. I thought there was more business on the consumer side? The datacenter scene will dry up in 2030. All the government contract i think end on 2030.
for a discount, get honored and pvp rank 3
>>62428472>in 2030This is like one of those questions where it's like "do you want to make 10 million dollars right now, or 10 million over 50 years", the answer is that financially their profits are smashing record after record right now, they don't give a fuck about the next 50 years of consumers buying cheap little ram sticks.
>>62428483yea, good point
>>62428299They will come down eventually, don't you remember 2021 when graphics card prices went parabolic?
>>62428299Yeah, maybe
Micron are making money while they can now because they know it's a matter of time before China eats up the whole ram market. By 2030 ram will be back down, it might crash before then if China can catch up and if the AI bubble pops.
