35-45% of US adults don't take part in ANY type of investing at all. These are people with bank accounts, credit cards, employment etc but they don't set a single dollar aside for investing. Sure capitalism has it's excesses and imbalances but there's a point where you need to stop feeling sorry for the bottom cohort and just see them as cattle the same way Jews see us. This is no different from adults who don't have a passport or a driver's license. Some people just exist in complete alienation from the most basic things and there's nothing you can do about it.
