Going to my job for a year and some change

Being a better person made me a six figure income in fiscal year 2025. God helps you pay your bills if you are making a sustained effort at being a better person. Start by making a list of your worst qualities and behaviours.

son, you need to learn about the twin miracles:
Grit & Compounding

Grit: Slaving away as a wagie and when you get off work either going to a second job, or learning some skills and keeping at it until you excape the hand-to-mouth syndrome. Only ~25% of people are able to do this in capitalist societies; more like 4% in non-capitalist societies.

Compounding: Would you rather have a million dollars today or 1 penny today compounded at 100% daily for a year? take the latter because you would have more than $5 million at the end of the month.

Point being - work hard, save what little you can, and invest it. It will take time, but you will see it accumulate in time. Remember the "rule of 72" - basically a 10% gain compounded yearly doubles your money in 7.2 years.

So - say you save $2,000 a year. in five years you will have $14,652
In 10 years, that's $40,250
In 20: $140,000

And then the other two best pieces of financial advice I know are: Don't get divorced & buy a duplex

dayum it's over 10% in past 10 years?
I worked for 3 years out of past 11 years and have most of it stashed away in a lazy target date fund.
Had I kept working for 10 I could've paid in full a whole-ass house and car in the midwest. Instead the plan is my autist ass gets our house when my parents croak because everyone else are well off and don't even want our house.
