Given the lack of threads on the topic on the board i decided to post one and see if there's interest.

Right now i'm working, mostly as a hobby, on a cointegrated pair trading arbitrage bot. Basically, you take companies that should more or less go in the same direction (CO and PEP is the classical example) and, if the difference grows too much, you short the winning one and long the other.

Are you working on a bot? Any experience to share?

>CO and PEP are positively correlated
Nigga what?

CO isn't even a ticker retard

What are you exactly maximizing for?
Not "wasting" like 100 hours a month trading (but instead putting 100 hours into fixing the bot?)
>deploy algo trading bot
>it makes +20% a year
Wow, it's fucking nothing.
Meanwhile as an options trader you can easily make 100% or more.

Maybe. These are two different ways of making money, and the second requires timing the market which is something that i can't do. Also no one does +100%/year with option trading consistently without going to zero by year 3
