you really shoudn't concentrate in one sector, especially something at the peak of a super cycle like memory

A lot of people in this trade,I don't think they understand the extreme risk that they're taking

It could correct, literally overnight, you're down 50%. And then it's likely that it'll never go bac up again. It'll be extremely easy for memory to drawdown 80% once the market suspect the memory supercycle has peaked. Then you either take massive losses, or you're stuck in a trade that may never recover

TQQQ is less risky than memory. It could easily get an 80+% draw down like memory, the difference is that it has enough diversification that even when the tech trade loses steam, it's got a lot of high quality names in it, and and ne tickers could move onto the index. It'll recover eventually. I don't think memory will ever recover once the trade peaks.

not in the meme way but all of these are priced in
just cause it is new on some website doesn't mean it is really news

SK Hynix, Micron etc all are expending their supplyline and these have been well known
>>
MU is and has been under-performing its fundamentals.
It gets singled out (insofar as something that's traded on the nasdaq, the gook stocks suffer from it too) to be treated as a commodity play when the nand guys are even more of a commodity in a space with more players and a more mature chinese industry with potential to disrupt it. To some degree all the semi companies in the business of fabs are commoditized businesses but everything analysts don't like about micron is quite literally worse in the nand space. This is objectively true: A nand wafer is exposed to more market competitors, a potentially lethal domestic chink competitor backed by the state, and identical supplyside inelasticity.
The thing that makes them get treated differently for valuations is that the street's been burnt by memory before in the now pretty distant past and they've overlearned last war's lesson.
Regardless I'm not telling you to go run out and buy MU because it's undervalued. I am not telling you to run out and short SNDK. I am saying why it's undervalued and my bias is that institutional inertia combined with nearly comical retail flightiness are significant headwinds for the stock likely to keep it undervalued.

What it is is big inelastic capex spend that micron believes will pan out for them. To an investor it's risk.
Think about it if micron builds a 9.3 billion dollar expansion which they say will start producing for them in 2028 micron and anyone investing in them is making a bet demand will still be there in 2028 for the increased production this facility will bring to the table. If micron is right they make more money if micron is wrong they're bagholding that facility in hiroshima for years until breakeven.

Much of it is being paid off by the Japanese government (should be like half?), that's what makes is so beneficial. You get the benefits with reduced risks. Obviously the demand is up for questioning, but Japanese government committing this much is a validation of a long-term sustainability from another side, which may be a bit more trustworthy compared to gooks that currently run on chips, so they have a lot committed to it either way. It's kind of an amplifier. If you think this whole AI buildout will crumble, then it shouldn't matter as much, but if you think that the demand will remain high, then it should be a pretty big win for Micron.
>>
>>62450199
I found this part strange including SK Hynix and Samsung doing this buildout as well. If all these companies see it ending around 2028, then this seems like a really stupid waste of money. They now have excess production to the point the supply might be in a glut. What now? Keep the facility shuttered while being stuck paying millions in taxes and employee salaries whomst are just neeting awaiting to be called back to work months, years later?

>but if you think that the demand will remain high
if demand is so high then why are government all around the world stepping in to bail them out?

AI is not a bet on productivity but on AGI. We are a long way from AGI until the memory problem is solved, and there has been no movement there.

If you understood just how insane this bet was, you would not be investing in it unless you were a yolo 0dte type of lad.
>>
>>62450199
>>62450210
Secondly how long would this bet take to show fruition? Short term this can be negative considering things like Facebook looking like it's ready to tap out of the AI game if not already, idk since Suckerberg wasn't clear enough. Enough players tap out and suddenly who needs all that ram? But then if the ram buildout plays out, how long until it starts showing in the price of the stock?
>>
>>62450214
Well, for me the thesis behind the investment is straightforward. You see a lot of money spent on X, X is making a lot of money, thus I buy X to get some of that revenue. There's obviously more to it than that, but it's the basis. These entities spending money are massive and generally should have enough backing to uphold their part of the agreement. The governments may be investing into AGI or productivity, either makes sense personally. It's not all too different from dotcom,. where US government also put their fingers into it.
>>
File: cattoman.jpg (51 KB, 720x730)

>>62450214
It's specially dangerous because the entry barrier for memory is much much lower than cpus/gpus, that's why there're several memory companies but only one (TSM) capable of reliably mass producing 3nm GPU/CPUs
So all of them expanding production at the same time is very very risky for the investor.

>>
>>62450218
Facebook has tendency to blow large amount of money on failed project (metaverse), so it wouldn't be out of the ordinary. Still, that doesn't mean that Meta ceased their AI attempts, nor that they decreased capex on the infrastructure. The two pieces of information I'm aware of is that Meta is planning to sell some computing power and that their AI development is going slower than expected. That kind of seems to imply as Meta has built too much hardware way too quickly, so they want to sell some in the meantime. Not the best sign, but that doesn't mean that they won't use it eventually, won't be used by someone else or that they're not going to build more for the future/decreased capex spending in the near future.

So while it doesn't seem too good, it could mean a range of things, most of which may just be mildly negative, but still inconsequential from one company that's known to make massive fuckups.
>>
>>62450213
the entire thesis behind the giga pump in mammaries is that they're no longer cyclical
if anything they're being very prudent this time around and they outright say it during their calls, they don't want overcapacity like previous cycles, but of course they can't account for eventual breakthroughs in chinese DRAM or other variables not under their control like a mega recession etc keep in mind a lot of this build out is circular financing and private credit
>>
>>62450213
There's an interplay between how well you think these companies know their core business and how much you trust their own forecasts and how you (or everyone in aggregate) size up and then tolerate the risk as you personally see it. It is fair to say the dram cartel themselves do not forecast demand flagging within the next two years.

the memory problem isn't a chip constraint.

i genuinely encourage some of you to use a model of your choice for an RP sesh, even if you're not a sweaty nerd.
in these you create a character card/setting and go on your adventures etc etc

regardless of cherrypicked benchmarks and sensational achievements, EVERY model will break down around the 200 msg mark, including newer claude.
the model will start to repeat/stunlock itself, it will lose the personality developed within the chat, it will revert to a basic gpt 3 lvl intellect
you can use summarys but all of the personality and character is lost.

this is a very different thing from cherrypicking an answer blind from a huge book.
its continuity.
and that problem exists as much today as its did in opus 3

context and reqs do not scale linearly, all the memory chips in the world do not help you past a certain point.

that there has been no advancement in this means its probably a fundamental limit of the technology, and very bearish for AGI, and thus all this investment will come to naught and crash bigly.

it is not hard to test if what im saying is true, consider doing it before firing off 500k
>>
>>62450226
>the entire thesis behind the giga pump in mammaries is that they're no longer cyclical
I don't agree. While there certainly are folks who think that the demand will hold up long-term (and may even increase due to robotics), I've heard plenty of opinions about the difference being mostly the scale of the current cycle. The demand/supply differential is just so much higher than before and is likely to persist longer than before. The evaluations may look insane on one side due to the sharp increase, but the increase is warranted by actual revenue and if anything, it's more towards the downside is so many are aware of the possibility of sharp downturn due to multiple of factors.

yeah I think super cycle is the smart way to look at it but you have to take into consideration the application itself behind this cycle eats through memory pretty quick and a lot of money is on the sidelines waiting to see the damage on the maintenance side before jumping in on memory
I tend to follow traditional wisdom that these cyclical companies always look cheap at the cycle peak and just make peripheral short term bets
>>
>>62450245
>always look cheap at the cycle peak
Oh yeah, I don't disagree. If anything them being cheap generally tends to indicate that they've realized most of their gains due to margins increases, after which they tend to be just choppy for some time to then start downtrending towards the end of the cycle. It's the phase nvidia's been in and suspect Micron might've reached now. That doesn't mean that the sector gains are over, but some players may have become capped, where it might be a good idea to move into stocks with higher P/E that have yet to realize their margins. It also should take some time before the actual huge falloff takes effect, especially if we're in a supercycle, where revenue may stay extremely high for a couple of quarters.
>>
>>62450249

You could literally say the same shit for Europoors. Oh wow, you guys have more people die every year from heat strokes then we have niggers killing each other from gun violence. Meanwhile you guys are importing more niggers than America did during the slave trade. Jesus fucking christ, even south east Asian countries are more fun to live at than Europen countries and I'm dual citizen with a good European country I can always call my second home. My impression of living in Europe is that it's boring as fuck. It's like living in old watch that ticks away constantly while it wears down overtime and the European nobility/aristocracy wearing it don't give a shit about the watch they are wearing because it was considered "luxury" at some poiny in time but it's still replaceable. The people are replaceable and the culture is replaceable especially when we have timepieces being made so much more capable, valuable, flexible, and practical than the stupid old watch Europe is.

Do people ITT think that it only counts for europeans?

Homeownership is real wealth, because you don't have to fuckin pay rent, mongoloids, as if being rich for most of you doesn't just mean to isolate yourselves from society to play vidya and never meet any human ever again
>>

>muhammed just beheaded our nephew and raped our niece and our royals/aristocrats don't care about us and just use us while our tax money goes to afford their luxury lifestyle
Seriously Euros will unironically say the stupidest shit like they prefer socialism because it doesn't cause wealth disparity like in America where rich people behave like kings while they literally still have kings and royals who's luxury lifestyle is bankrolled by their taxes. People who were born into royalty without having to do fuck all to earn it. Royalty that despises them and wants to replace them. Holy fuck how stupid do you have to be not to see that.

Wasnt following along but I used an rp model a few years ago. It was vey fun except for the obvious dei/lgbt shit injected into it. The AI would eventually start forgetting stuff at some point. Too much details probably didnt help.

Now that I looked at more of your comments in the reply chain, Im confused. What exactly are you implying in regards to short term future (now to 2028) ram/AI expectations? That the stocks will go up, perhaps crab in the mid term? Or dump?
>>
>>62450383
>Nothing to do with europe itself, idiot.
100% to do with Europe because Europeans act like they have unlocked some superior lifestyle when fucking third world countries have less people dying from heat stroke than them and more economic mobility. I have a second home in Europe but wouldn't live in Europe because it's on the decline. I'd rather live in places where the people are happier and the living standards are improving.
>>
>>62450388
So what's the solution? Tax the rich? Kill them? Take thei stuff? Or are you "le lower the taxes to 0% so everybody can become rich (like in the US lmao)"?

If you want to tax the rich then there's the autistic screeching of "NOOOOOO THEY WILL LEAVE" or "NOOOOOO YOU CAN'T TAX THE RICH, THIS IS A SLIPPERY SLOPE TO TAX THE MIDDLE CLASS" or "NOOOOOOOO EVERYTHING WILL JUST BECOME MORe EXPENSIVE" and if you want to take their stuff away "NOOOOOO THIS IS LITERALLY COMMUNISM"

i am so utterly exhausted with hearing people talk to me about their impoverished shit as though it's something impressive
living standards have, if anything, gone backwards in 20 years and yet there is a complete refusal to face reality and acknowledge what the real problems are
>>
>>62450403
>what's the solution
They are royals you fucking retard and you can do what every country has done throughout history that gave up having royals by realizing there was never anything royal or noble about them. They are literally like any other fucking jack off on earth except they have little retarded "rituals" like bending the knee in their presence to help brainwash the plebs into being subservient to them. Boom, all that retarded gay magic that makes you think they are special is gone and you can finally begin letting go of a stupid relic that serves no purpose for a country other than being modern day nepo babies of bygone era that Euros hold onto like profane nostalgia.

Are gou autistic or that uneducated? They're only decorative, have no real political power and while they DO live on the taxpayer's back, it's 5-10 people at most. Not enough to cause wealth disparity and the average citizen doesn't live like a medieval peasant, lol.

>>
>>62450426
ok but why do we have to have them? they can keep their estate and still be rich forever so why do they need taxpayer money too?
why do europeans get mad at the suggestion that we should do away with this absurd archaic institution? if, as you say, they have no real power then they are obsolete
>>
>>62450428
>super shithole

Don’t care for royals, dislike people saying “well they make more money than they take in” but if you bring up stopping tax money going to them then suddenly it’s wrong to do so
Surely if they make the country money then they don’t need tax money coming in? Or is it bullshit since the claim that they make more money than they take comes from them to begin with
>>
>>62450410
I don't think many have the perspective or understand to make insightful commentary on the state of the society as a whole, even comparing to the recent past, but that's natural. Especially in the current state of everything being interwoven, it's difficult to isolate and pull a singular thread without something else unfolding with it. It's nice to have something to point at as a scapegoat to carry all the ills, but it rarely works that way, especially nowadays.
>>

Retard logic because your kin is more likely to survive if your wealthy than if you are poor and there is parabolic amount of wealth you can enter into simply by proclaiming rights to resources and land. At a certain point it wouldn't matter what your jack off last name is because the percentage of failure at that level of wealth for your kin goes to practically zero even if they are completely unremarkable individuals.

>>62450424
The people voting away individual countries autonomy in Brussels during the European Union meetings might as well be considered royals as well.

>>62450426
You say that shit meanwhile any jackoff can watch a documentary on the royals and see just how much tax payer money goes to waste for their stupid personal events. If it was so decorative you wouldn't have the whole country so enamored with them that someone turns up dead in their courtyard and no one gets investigated or punished for it.

I'm up in the air with the software rotation because it has this weird lose/lose dynamic with the AI trade. And I'm not saying this is true but this is the market perception:

>If AI reaches AGI we won't need software because AI will do it
>If the AI bubble pops the contagion crash will also drag software down with it

I tend to agree that software is underpriced but you're waiting until the market agrees with it and also risking that an AI bubble pop doesn't also wipe you out.

>Miller continues, “The Prices Index decreased to 67.7 percent, its lowest reading since February 2026 (63 percent). In this month’s report, some respondents reported reduced prices paid for gasoline and diesel, but this was not seen across the board. Petroleum-related products were mentioned again as a commodity up in price, something that we expect to see for several months as higher oil prices work their way through the supply chain, but they should ease off in the fall assuming recent progress in moving oil through the Strait of Hormuz continues. As of late June, West Texas Intermediate crude oil dropped below US$70 per barrel for the first time since February, a more than 30 percent drop from its high in recent months. The Supplier Deliveries Index continued to indicate slower performance; while easing for its second month in a row, it is still above its 12-month average.

>“The more than 2-percentage point drops in both the Business Activity and New Orders indexes were partially offset by the 3.3 percentage point increase in the Employment Index.

>“Respondents in June commented less frequently about pricing impacts on petroleum products, while tariff impacts continued to be a theme for increased pricing pressure.

The next war will be the AI war.
USA will lose to South Korea and China. Americans will be employed by South Koreans and Chinese, the nearest restrooms at their workplaces will be used by South Koreans and Chinese, and Americans will only be able to use the furthest restrooms.

USA lost the war to Korea.
USA is a colony of Korea.
Without Korea, they can't even make television.

The cause of this war is South Korea.
South Korea is famous for Samsung and K-pop.

Because South Korea smuggled strategic materials into Iran, Iran was able to acquire weapons of mass destruction, including biological weapons.
