Seems like every BTC pump or dump is blamed on ETF flows or macro headlines.>Is that just the reality now, or are people overlooking other factors?
>>62450728Its 100% cz dependent, just tradingview has to write something to the price action.
>>62450728Btc does this thing where it lulls the newfag into a false sense of superiority. Both in bull and bear markets. In a bull market, it tricks newfags into thinking it will go up forever and traps them in overleveraged longs and in bear markets, it tricks them into it never going back up and they either sell low, sell covered calls or lever up short and get milked. Just hold spot and don't pay attention for a decade.

>>62457313Yes and 10k is nothing >>62458651Not sure if it's a good idea
BTC is just boring. people only invested in it because it was pumping. it has no use case outside of moving assets into another country due to different taxation regulations for crypto. the only reason it is not dumping more are instutional bagholders and MSTR. and the time frame and economy; people just got used too much to buying the dip. once certain barriers are broken, it will know no end on the way back to 4 digits.
>>62459225No it's not boring. You're the one that's boring
>>62459233it's pump and dump. Literally bored rn
>>62450753Is cz a government state actor at this point? Guy seems to have a bottomless wealth
>>62459192It's a good idea as long as you're using a protocol that supports self-custody and native staking.
>>62450961I'm not saying sell gold buy bitcoin. I think both have a place in a portfolio. I'm just saying if you do choose to allocate to bitcoin, just be aware that it is still a volatile speculative asset that could dump 50% for no reason.

>>62462593I'm more interested in TBVs. That's where I think the bigger opportunity is.
>>62462709Bitcoin has become more than just a payments network. That's not the same as losing its reason to exist.
>>62462709If Bitcoin has "no reason to exist," why are people still building new infrastructure around it?
>>62462717Because it's not just the tech anymore. Aegis and Utila getting involved tells me there's real interest in native BTC.
>>62462739>building new infrastructure around it?I think that's called Ethereum
>>62462943not bitcoin?
>>62462943ethereum is the king of it
>>62462946Nothing is being built around or on top of Bitcoin. When people hear tokenized assets or stablecoins are being built on crypto they think crypto = Bitcoin, but everyone who understands even a bit about crypto knows this is not true. If someone disagrees, feel free to shill whatever Bitcoin has achieved in the past 1 year, or in the past 5 years for that matter. I can't think of anything besides inscriptions, which had some potential but ended up as nothing more than speculative meme-NFTs. Bitcoin isn't designed to keep up with fast moving crypto tech, it's designed to be solid and ossified. It's biggest achievement is having not changed at all, monetarily or technologically.
>>62462965You're only looking at the base layer. A lot of the innovation is happening around Bitcoin, not by changing Bitcoin itself.
>>62463137Such as? Besides Lightning, which is mostly just custodial wallets, there is not a single Bitcoin L2 that's used.>but bro they are in development muh 2 weeks awayThis has been the case for 5+ years now.

>>62450728

bitcoin is a commodity backed ETF without the commodityall it ever is and all it ever will be
There should be a 90s themed live action series called something cheesy like "Good morning Mr. Nakamoto" about the bitcoin creator. After making it big in his mid 20s he has become a multi billionaire, but is extremely paranoid so he decided to keep a low profile. Now he's in his late 30s, a family man with a couple kids, and the series follow an episodic format where he desperately tries to hide from his family his enormous wealth and just pretends to be an office worker. The thing is he has zero credentials so he can't actually get a job so it becomes incrementally difficult (due to plot inducement stupidity) to maintain the farce. Prying yet endearing secondary characters keep coming and leaving, and oftentimes misunderstandings make him almost blow his cover. During some weaker seasons he's stalked by some group of nerds that are almost sure he's the real deal and want to take revenge due to prices plunging, but eventually some shenanigan makes the nerds pin their suspicions on Nakamoto's rival (who was trying to cuck him with his wife, who by the way goes through a very annoying arc because she realizes his hubby is not being open with her or something). Nakamoto's personality is a bit like Hal from Malcolm in the middle but less lolrandom, he just plays as a fool to better hide his secret.
>>62463301Some thematic episodes could include his wife hiring a financial advisor because he played the broke ass bit too much, and he tries to stop the advisor from peeking at his 100b net worth at any cost. He also gets in trouble because the advisor is not very bright and tells terrible advice very overconfidently, so Nakamoto counters with suspiciously good and sharp analysis (fortunately his wife just doesnt care because he has ingrained the dumb with money narrative and the advisor is very confident, and also a financial advisor duh). In another episode he gets pinned by the IRS after accidentally doing some billion level transaction and having to pay tenths of millions in taxes. Another one where he (again, Plot) is revealed to have all the money behind a 20 word seed, but he doesnt remember the words, so it's a musical where he finally manages to recall them through a catchy song. The episode is rated quite poorly though because it doesn't fit with the general tone. In the seventh and last season his younger kid finds out by dumb luck and the rest of that season is him preventing them from telling mom. The show gets cancelled afterwards due do decline in viewership and the plot never gets finished.
>>62463301>>62463320This has potential
>>62463263but it doesn't mean it'll stay that way.
>>62463429I could foresee an actual ending where he has to let all his earnings go because of some contrived dumb reason, but it's framed in a way that looks somewhat deep and poignant. His cover is blown in the process, but as he's revealed to be the creator of Bitcoin, he suddently gets a call from one of the companies he tried to apply the most though all the seasons (let's say it's a mid-sized company that offers an average salary, it has it's wacky employees and boss, they usually appear for like 10 minutes every few episodes just to reject Nakamoto). He's finally accepted and he merrily joins (it's a subtle joke because now that he's a public figure he could easily be gunning for 500k jobs, but he settles for this as a nudge to the audience), managing to achieve the life he pretended to have (and actually wanted) from the get go. The series end with him walking into the office's slightly rundown and shabby building with a bright smile. You even get to make that cheap overused allegory of ''choosing happiness and being true to your principles over riches''. I feel like there's an alternate universe where this would have killed it.
>>62463256I'll keep testing TBVs on Aave V4. BTC has a lot more going on now than just being a store of value.
>>62463301The best ending would be nobody ever finding out if it's really him. Keeping the mystery alive is probably the most Satoshi thing possible.
>>62464098You're too invested in that drama. It's not happening in real life.
>>62464121You know what? That's fair. I relied too much on 90s sitcom tropes. It should just end episodically, there's just no more seasons and that's it.>>62464142I don't have much going on in my life and my family and friends find my occurrences boring. And it's supposed to be a comedy. What drama? I want it to be goofy and for all publics!
>>62464033Take stablecoins for another example. Zero. Zilch. Nada. $0.00 -- Remember when 100% of USDT used to be on Bitcoin? Now it's 0%, Omni is dead and Tether has moved to every other chain. There is nothing more to Bitcoin than BTC the asset.
I have a credit card that gives me cash back in the form of BTC. So my investment strategy is just skimming off my purchases anyway.
>>62464251Why do you think you're right about that and you think you're so sure about it?
>>62465005I don't understand the question. Right about what.
>>62464115Cool. There's clearly more happening around bitcoin now than there was a few years ago.
>>62464760I'm talking about native BTC, not stablecoins. Those are two different discussions.
