>Go on bogleheads>All the boomers with old roastie wives have 1-3m net work>They claim that all of their equities are in tax advantaged accountsAm I fucking up by not buying stox in a tax advantaged account? Almost all of my money is in a normal, taxed brokerage account. Obviously I have nowhere near as much as these boomers.
>>62455199>listening to boomcucks at allJUST
>>62455199brokerage is fine, you have complete flexibility now and forever on your moneythe tax rate is also lower then most think. get married and the LTCG rate is 0% upto 120k. that's 120k of PROFIT
If you put too much in a pretax account it can backfire. If you actually maxed a pretax 401k for a 30 year career it would be in the multiple millions and your rmds could actually end up paying higher taxes than if it was in a brokerage (income rates instead of ltcg + forced to take a distribution).
>>62455199At least max your Roth IRA m8
>>62455199/biz/ underestimates how many families have a ton of money through generational wealth. If you've been in this country for a couple generations you will have wealth through land and businesses
>>62455313i'm maxing my personal roth IRA account and also putting 10% of my income into company roth 401k.Its just that the rest goes to my normal brokerage account. I dislike the idea of putting too much money into an account I can't access till I'm almost dead so I stay liquid with the vast majority of my money.>>62455331My ancestry goes back to the colonies on my mom's side and I have absolutely nothing hahahaha. My boomer grandma had a shitty house but my mom sold it after her death and shes currently burning through every penny that she made off of it.I never even knew what investing was till I saved up a bunch of money and started googling it because my retarded parents didn't learn themselves.
>>62455208Thats why you are a broke incel, cant learn from your betters
>>62455405Just the Roth IRA is plenty, especially since you're clearly making plenty of money. Drop the 401k to whatever your employer match is and transition the rest over to your taxable account.
>>62455405My ancestry goes back to the 50s from Ireland and everyone is millionaires because you could easily have a house by the beach and one in or around the city while working a basic job. Most grandparents/aunts and uncles left the city(sold houses for a fortune) still have beach houses worth over a million and have expensive houses in desirable areas. Like 3 of my uncles are absolutely loading because they own of fleet of trucks and got in early on atms. All of this was with family money wealth begets wealth. I'm not even including the random dirt cheap acreage up the mountains either which led to fracking money too
