If you subtract the AI driven rallies the Nasdog has literally not made any advance since last summer. Not a single point. All of it is propped up by AI/semis. Paid off my credit card bill this afternoon and thought about how little money I actually have. If I lost my job, I'd have enough to survive for only a year and a half tops, and that's living frugal. Medical bills. There's no SAFETY in life - forget about freedom - there's no SAFETY until you're genuinely rich. I'm glad we have this meme market though, at least it feels like there's still a ladder up as long as you have some capital to put on the table. I've been swinging TQQQ all year but obviously it hasn't worked the last couple weeks and it feels kind of bad to watch all my dry cash sitting in the brokerage... But as long as the downtrend continues, I'm still sitting on my hands rather than enter a position. I don't know if that's just cowardice though, maybe the correct play is to try and ride the last bit of meme energy on semis and memory.

L1/L2/L3 Cache is fundamentally more important. Even before AMD did X3D apple/dell/micron was begging for more cache from intel for its supercomputer aka HBM market. Not to mention more cores but expanding monolithic dies causes more failures inspite of its inherently cheaper power/better latency. AMD won since it reduced cost for production and increased core counts that helped consolidate server hardware. I should've kept buying AMD stock but i was broke so only make 8000$ profit when it doubled once.

I literally spend 80% of my time with 0% APR so I just don't pay a dime until that's over, investing it instead, then pay off the entire amount before they can charge me a cent of interest. It's also 2% cash back on all purchases. I honestly have no idea why they do this and it's been happening for at least 5 years (I'm 26)

0% APR is free money accounting for inflation. Most people don't even think of that they see that its interest free for 12 ish months or longer and go ham thinking they can afford to pay it off before interest hits on the 13th month. Most fail entirely.

Well here's to more downward action on equities
Actually I have about 140 WMT, maybe people will rotate into that for defensive purposes. At the very least, I saw Trump try to compel retailers to sell summer essentials on the cheap (to buy votes for midterms). I expect autumn fuel prices to go down as well. Either way, I think WMT is solid right now and it's like 15% off the ATH, great discount

I get the risk management and trade psychology are the biggest factors (and following a system). I just lack discipline. Like I want to risk 1-2% per trade, scale position size based on ATR, sell half when I'm up to TP and move to break even, etc etc. I'm on 100x leverage but that's basically just for margin requirements.

Anyways, my current indicator stack basically builds a proxy $DXY (below) for each of the 8 majors (the values are different, but it has the same shape), then plots them on a normalized -1.00 .. +1.00 axis. Actually it uses HMA so values can occasionally pop beyond. It also tracks recent trend (darker lines). Signals can be crossover, crossunder, trend change, or two lines cross.
*It seems trend is strongest when it breaks into or out of the central channel.

The upper part of the chart does a similar ATR and trendline approach. The flat thick red/green lines are recent average high/low over time, then it builds a midpoint and channel based on ATR. Somewhat like bbands I suppose. For this one, the signal seems to be when the price is "cupped" by the yellow/blue trendline, it changes color, and it's in a shaded region. That *can* signal a reversal upward, but needs to be confirmed somewhere else. I tend to look at 2-3 timeframes to get an overall feeling (or at least, the chart I look at needs to agree with the longer timeframe)

Follow the trend of Cisco/Oracle/Sun micro during the Dotcom boom and bust cycle. It should give you a better idea. The shovel sellers gained massive value and shit the bed back to original value prior and never really recovered from that. Cisco networking hardware/software solutions and Oracle software solutions and Sun Micro for server solutions, IBM trailed behind since they are worried about banks/financial systems. All of the other meme stocks ie websites boomed when they stated "We are making a website that hosts X" even though they never deployed a server even a day prior to stating that. AI is about at the meme portion of the bubble if but people forget that these tools will still stick around its just the hype and investments that will go away to shake out the retards.

woah, nigga that escalated to very venomous personal attacks instantly.
I never said loans couldn't exist, but 20% APR is comically Jewish. you might as well wear a kippah when you make these posts.
Have a friend, joined the army. got his college paid for, but then decided he wanted a cool army job, not being a nuke silo operator for the next 10 years. So he dropped out. Now he has to pay off that debt for a long time. This is deserved debt. its reasonable. he broke a contract that was reasonable- higher education in exchange for a tour of duty on behalf of uncle sam. it was his fault for thinking the smoke the recruiter blew up his ass meant anything.
but his GF had credit card debt, and paid left over money to it and never could get it to go away. Friend forces her to let him take care of all expenses for a few months, in exchange for her putting all earnings towards that debt until its gone. For every time someone is saved from that, there are several where the person drowns under the weight. This is the distinction. his incurred debt for contract breach was righteous, as his contract was reasonable. Her debt was overly harsh because a 20% interest rate on a woman with a job who just wasn't the brightest in the world would punish her endlessly. she needed a daddy to put her in her place, which not nearly enough women have these days. then there are dumb men, who no one is going to save. a 2% or 3% could be seen as reasonable, but one you get to 10+, your "business" is a parasitic debt trap feasting on the souls of foolish.

I've been thinking about the data centre build out

the real bottleneck is actually electricity, not memory. A lot of people already know this.

I've seen a lot of people say there's no way to get the data centres on the grid, because they're already at capacity. They're just all smug about it not being possible.

There is actually a way. And it's possible. Raise prices of electricity until there is enough demand destruction to supply the data centres. They'll pay almost any price. Even if electricity prices go up 1,000% it would still be one of the data centres smallest expenses.

It's the easiest way to solve the problem and doesn't require a multi trillion dollar infrastructure build out.

LOL that would destroy the economy wholesale. it would be horrific. You need capacity to fill in the gaps for both EV adoption and more so for Data Center build outs. The only saving grace is that every year each of these devices that get bought out by these centers is more electric efficient and easier to cool but its not much when you keep ramming more hardware into smaller spaces.

Semis are the now. It MAY also be the future, but that's up for question still.

But don't worry too much yet, I'm in the same heavy semis boat and I'm down quite a bit. We've already had similar correction like 3 months ago, so it's nothing out of the ordinary just yet. The shortages are likely to run deep into 2027, so there should be some cushion for now. The numbers still look good and should improve, but it's possible that the market sentiment will stay and we've already reached the peak. That's the price of the game.

>>
>>62458621
I think that the point is that if people are selling off to get in on the stock, then it may be pushing the prices down, which is especially problematic for the highly leveraged sector. Once the selloff stops, then the pressure will ease and everything will have chance to rise again, probably even faster than normal sectors as it's highly leveraged.

Not that I fully buy into it, but it does make sense as an explanation to me. Similar thing happened before the SpaceX IPO, where there was a global pushdown that then corrected shortly.

Well, similar here. If it's a correction it's likely not too far from the bottom and may possibly recover. If it's a full capitulation and end of semis trade, you may hold for at least a little personally to confirm that, but that's up to you.

Depends upon what's your intention behind the purchase. If it's an investment, then you should just go back to your thesis and see, whether something has changed. If not, hold, if yes, then adjust. If it's just a trade, then you should've already have set a stop loss in advance.

>Since everyone is bearish, I think it'll pump
>the price will go the opposite way to sentiment

My thesis was that the ram stick i bought a few years ago now cost triple and if I have to pay so much for it I want to atleast get some return on stocks (also everyone needs chips, the recent earnings etc.)
But losing 5k every day takes a lot of mental fortitude to stomach even though I dont need the money right now and it was intended to be an investment.
What are you doing?

Holding. It's not nice, but not much has changed. MU earning are great. Samsung earnings are great. Earning season is coming. I may end up holding heavy bags, but if that's it, so be it. It's a large part of my portfolio, but the only thing to do then is to move on, rebuild and try to learn to make better decisions next time.

I hate these faggoty patterns so much, where there's a lot of buying but then
>smallsellsmallsellsmallsell

>hurr everyone is bullish, top sign
>everyone is bearish and going short? clearly it's gonna go lower forever
Every single time I'm reminded it takes low IQ to be an actual unironic bear.
