The reason why he's successful is that US wealth is driven in no small part by finance, which is heavily influenced by speculation about promising development. Elon is doing precisely that: promising development. Whether it actually happens is immaterial to the investors, because they'll cash out before it all comes crumbling down. Three guesses as who who will be left holding the bag.It's not really a ponzi scheme, but if you want to describe what he's doing as an Elon scheme, then you have to also apply that definition to the entirety of the finance industry and thus capitalism in general.
