I have been working on a day trading bot for 2 years. and This is my best result (backtested on 6 years and 2700 stocks). Yes, only a x2 on 6 years. Its so over for me, i will never be rich.
>>62472939Pic related are my results, im also retarded. I wanted to make a passive x2 each year, but turns out the best i can get out of this strategy is a x2 on 6 years. Which means i will have to wait 30 years to make it.
>>62472939>put in $500K>wait 6 years>collect $1 millionsounds good to me, sign me up
>>62472965Except for the fact that OP made 95% returns during a time period when the S&P500 returned 135%.So he did all of this work just to significantly underperform the market. Basically he's a retard just like 99% of all daytraders.
>>62472939don't even bother if you don't have insider information
>>62473010>le market memesp500 has been going down if you ignore the ai meme companies
>>62472965Its really not good enough for me, i live in shithole (Spic) so i dont think i will ever see 500k in my whole life unless i start a company (but im too autistic to do so). Its over, i will just do as >>62473071 says. Even if i increase my risk per position to 5%, it only increases my revenue to 150%, even if the drawdown keeps being low at 14%, that would not suffice for me to ever make it.
>>62472939Every dumbass nigger on earth is trying to do a trading bot these days (myself included) and for this reason and many others I quit.
>>62473157 you'll get obliterated by insider trading sociopaths when day trading because it's incredibly complex and volatile and the market behaves like a schizophrenic woman on her period. It gets more logical on larger timeframes (weeks, months, years) which is where (You) can be competitive especially if you've got some domain specific knowledge. Don't bother using TA algorithms. Don't listen to retards on /biz/. The charts, trading volume, etc. tell you very little. Ask yourself how can your algorithm predict this just by looking at past prices:>Marvell stock soars 32% as Nvidia’s Huang says it could be the next trillion-dollar companyIt can't. It's simply impossible.
>>62472939I suspect your 2x return does not account for taxes, right?
>>62473260Yeah, that's right, which makes my whole result even more mediocre.
>>62472939>backtested on 6 years and 2700 stocksIf you did any real DD on legitimate trading strategies you would know that a strategy doesn't last forever and/or is only for specific market conditions. Algo firms literally have a team of phd mathematicians updating or changing their algo throughout the day. hfsp
>>62473494Yeah, this strategy only works on bullish market conditions. Its not like it suddenly stops working on bearish conditions, but the returns are low on bearish conditions because i cut my entry size to 20% on bear markets. Its a long only strategy.Im confident that if i extend my period to 20 years, i will get a similar performance. The main issue is that im done with this, i think i will just try to get a business running now that im still on my early 30's. Thats realistically the only way i can get enough money to make this strategy with modest returns yield me enough money to retire.
>>62473506>Yeah, this strategy only works on bullish market conditions. Its not like it suddenly stops working on bearish conditionsI can tell you have never read a technical paper on a trading strategy or even an indicator before. No, investopedia articles don't count. Your strategy is shit when it only preformed at 75% of what the market did naturally. Look up the term relative performance. You are not even using a Sharpe Ratio or max drawdown. It's not my money you will lose and like many others already told you every idiot thinks they are the next Buffet due to AI.
>>62473543uh ok, i guess.
>>62472939it took me 30 minutes to ask AI to whip up a day trading algo that works the hardest part was finding an edge, which was a complete accident.
