The difference in life quality between being poor and having a comfy $100-200k income is enormous. Not having to worry all the time and being able to focus on things that actually improve your quality of life will only make it better. But past like $200k/year there are diminishing returns. The big mansion you bought doesn't feel very special after you've been there for a few weeks. The ferrari is only exciting for the first few weeks, etc. There's only so much joy you can get from material possessions. Most of your happiness has to come from within

I stopped caring about money when my income hit around $10k per month back in 2018, it took me a long time to undo a number of bad habits where I was afraid to spend any money on anything high end but now I am much happier and have much more free time. It does hit diminishing returns at some point, but there's a threshold where your life just gets like 10x better if you aren't afraid to spend, see lots of people with multi millions living the same miserable lives as before because it's become ingrained into them and they don't know ho to actually live.
