I routinely walk away with a 5x. All you have to do is go out of your way to piss everyone off as much as possible. They'll go on tilt and at that point it's over for them
I'm 43 and was there for the 2003 boom. Started playing for real money on Stars, Party Poker, Ultimate Bet, Full Tilt, Absolute, on and on and on back when they advertised it on ESPN and Americans could just deposit with credit/debit cards. Problem is I sucked just like everyone else. These days online poker is impossible because you're not playing rich golf dads who are drunk in the micros/small stakes games. You're playing foreigners who treat .10/.25 cents like it's bobby's room and play optimally. And of course, bots and bot rings. If i could go back in time I'd be rich af because eventually I did learn basic pot odds and implied odds and for tourneys icm and push/fold strategy.Overall I'm done with online poker but I broke even at best.as for live poker, last time I played I lost 700 dollars because it's rigged

The problem was I thought that would last forever and I didn't really push to move up in stakes and get better. By the time black friday came I was still making money but it was a grind, barely worth it. I liked playing live too but only would do it on trips to Vegas and didn't really think of it as a job. These days you would have to be 100% retarded to play online, you are going to get decimated by people using solvers.

I pull about 10k a month. The AI algorithm I created does all the work. I stick to the system 99% of the time. The 1% is when I for sure know I'm facing a bluff.
I lost $300 last time i played. It was a night out with some entertainment and I got a good bit of that back in alcohol.Worth it, though my liver probably disagrees.

on yt there's some guy named thomas poker. i saw his vid about playing all the SoCal poker casinos. at the end it sounded like he was either down or at break even. he seems to know his stuff too. guy like him not really making a profit, compared to avg or below avg guy like me, i don't think it's worth it. maybe i'll dip my toe back in with online. but i've been on an epic losing streak with poker (in vegas, not CA).

Got a full house, aces over kings, and the other guy ended up with four sevens, three of which were in his face-down cards. I had absolutely no idea why he kept betting since I had enough showing that I would have been worried about me. When we finally showed our cards, I had no idea why the other people at the table were reacting as they did, because I hadn't paid any attention to the bad-beat conditions. I think I lost $300 on the hand but won about $2800 on the bad-beat jackpot.

Online poker is mostly luck. You can't really get a read on people when you don't see their faces, so you just have to make your action and hope for the best unless you're sitting on a really good hand.

I won 600 at the local 1/3. I was up 1300 and about to leave when I get red Aces in middle position. Raise to 10, 4 callers and the SB raises to 65. I reraise to 165, folds to him and he jams. Many make shitty incomes and have to live in third world countries. You'd be far better off in money and time just building an online business. Far less frustrating, higher success rate, it works while you sleep, etc. Keep poker as a fun little hobby with your friends.
I only play with friends and family and we use coins instead of chips because it's fun to have big stacks of pennies, dimes nickles and quarters stacked up in front of you, last time I won I had around $100 in change in the pool, it was a great time

She plays so conservatively that she was almost always taking the 2nd or 3rd payout from our friends group. The one time i played at a bar i actually won a few hundred by pure luck by going all in on a pair of 7s against the last guy with 2 jacks and won when the last card flipped was another 7. I never really played for big money, but it was a great time throwing $20 in and getting 3 hours of fun bullshiting smoking and drinking with friends with a lot of the times coming out ahead so those suckers just paid for my degenerate habits. I dont know if it would be very fun playing with strangers even if there were bigger payouts
I like 7 card stud but its hard to find games for online and in real life unless you like playing horse.
