I have lurked in reddit for like 3 days and i found 3 notable investment factions that hate each other.

1. WSB - you already know this homos.
2. Bogleheads - Boomers and millenials, won't call them retarded.
3. Dividend gangs
Interesting people. They hate 1 and 2.
They think buying voo is gambling and is similar to bitcoins because they rely on future price changing.
They want to own stale on free cahsflow and get bennies,
and reinvest bennies to get more bennies.
They say if you need to sell your stonks after you retire you are wrong.

How do you guys think about 3?
They seem kind of heterodox.

>2. Bogleheads - Boomers and millenials, won't call them retarded.
They're retarded also when we say millennials who the fuck are we talking about, because this board used to be 90% millennials gambling on crypto in 2017. Do we mean "millennial" (born 1981) or millennial (born 1993)?
>>
>>62496098
Their bogle people seem to have more older millenials, but not sure.
I think they also have some gen zs as some people keep asking what to do with their small wages.

I'm out.

cash crew #1
everyone hates us
CASH CREW REPRESENT

Fuck yeah bro lets hijack this thead for the cash crew
>>
i go to plebbit normie financial advice reddits and be the only only one telling these ETF idiots to buy gold and silver (a good safe too which in itself is a good investement). They sperg, mald and cope everytime.
>>
>>62496092
3 sounds absolutely retarded low T and risk adverse. If you think VOO is too risky you need to blast tren to save your nutless bag between your legs. You also have to consider what the alternative to NOT investing is, which is sitting in fiat, which is destined to go down no matter what from our money printing usurious economic system. So not only are they low T, risk adverse losers, they are also retarded.

>saaar pls buy my bags at cyclical decade highs saaaaaaaaaar
Indian housewife detected.

>They think buying voo is gambling and is similar to bitcoins because they rely on future price changing.

This is dumb. VOO goes up because it creates actual wealth. Not so for BTC.
>>
>>62497249
VOO goes up because the stocks go up, which has little correlation with their revenue and even less with their actual valuation as companies. They go up because dollar go down. Just like Gold and Silver too.

3 are essentially communists of the market.

1 and 2 are trying to find the underlying pattern of human behavior/investment so they at least have my respect for that.
>>
>>62497271
Why? If you don't need the money and you want maximum growth, it makes sense.
>>
>>62496714
Ayo!
>>
>>62496092
I still dont know what a boglehead is. Is it just DCA into index funds? Typically these people win out long term, statistically.
>>
>>62496092
>Dividend gangs
These people are 2 digit IQ retards that are math challenged. Basically, if stock A is $100 and will go to $110 in a year and appreciate 10% thereafter, but stock B is $100 and pays $2 (2%) in dividends a year and appreciates 5% annually, dividend retards will take stock B.

To them the idea of having shares and getting more shares and not selling the shares and the shares just give them dividends that is free money is somehow better than shares of stock that is ultimately worth more and they just sell a few shares of, because eventually one will run out of shares. Pretty much boy math if there ever was one.

Sir, every investment forum has been malding at me for 5 years recommending metals. They think their decades high 2-3% yield is somehow a much safer play. They have no idea $5k is still very cheap. Their point of reference over the last 50 years is about to leave them in tears
>>
>>62496092
It's because if you do #2 the second you stop working / accumulating you have to start selling and it will eventually eat away at everything, so you have to be very strict only 4% max and even that can rekt you.
#3 seems like you can get the best of both worlds, you preserve ownership and live off the cash flow, but it's all the same shit in the end.
Or is it, preserving ownership is pretty powerful as opposed to the mathematical certainty of eventually losing ownership.
I wish reit income were taxes like ordinary dividends.

If youre young you should not be buying gold, or betting on silver. Save that for when youre 70
>>
>>62497376
I am glad I didn’t listen to this advice 5 years ago. I’m glad I won’t be listening to this advice in the future. Metals are undergoing a once in a generation remonitization and it’s the comfiest and easiest hold than any paper
>>
>>62497387
Dude, I own silver. I just dont put everything into it because you genuinely shouldnt do that.
>>
>>62497338
QED.
>>
>>62496092
bogling can be good for growth investment, but the goal should always be to have as much non-sale income as possible. if you're not going to have enough income then start selling shares but otherwise keep them.
starting with divvies has its own advantages especially if you get laid off.
>>

>>62497373
Retard in point
>>
>>62496098
How is 81 a "millennial"? That's where millennial started and its been that way from the beginning
>>
>>62497433
Well refute the point faggot. You can't
>>
>>62497612
>you have to start selling and it will eventually eat away at everything

Yeah there's the short bus, the feeling that a dividend is eternal and therefore better to have beyond the sheer expected value.
>>
I used to be dividend gang but that was retarded. Have gone full boglehead have 20 years left until retirement but I am aimed to be at 3.2 million all in. ROTH when I hit 60.

Just going to live off the 2% (64k a year) and let it grow from 60 to 70. At 70 my bond ladder hits along with my upping from 2% to 4% along with social security turns my income up to anywhere from 160k to 210k a year depending on the market.
>>
>>62501118
What do you need 200k a year for at 70 years old? have you ever actually met a 70 year old before or are you just making things up for a laugh?
>>
>>62496092
3 are midwits and if you don't see that immediately you're 3 days into investing too or a midwit yourself
>>
>>62502526
in burgerland the longterm cost for elderly healthcare is staggering. by the time he's 70 it's going to cost him way more than $200k to keep his decrepit, feeble body alive.
shaniqua jones and maria ramos are just going to dump him down a flight of stairs anyway, so it's a moot point.
