invest 80% of it and do something you enjoy with the remainder, memories, trips, seeing sports or shows, meals out, whatever you enjoy

depending how old you are 40k may be very comfortable for retirement or if you're older barely enough to meet keep you feed

I was in a similar situation before I made it. Between 2018 and 2024, I put up to $8000 a month into BTC, ETH, ETFs, a few megacap tech stocks, and maxed out my 401k. Hindsight is 20/20 but I wish I had just dumped it all in BTC and ETH only.
