Money itself is inert, it's only use is for redeeming with others to do/provide you with things or services, money makes you dependant on others, it doesn't give you power over them, it does the exact opposite.You take your own time that you could use to learn the skills you are in need of or produce what you need, but instead lock your time in a tokenized form that can only be unlocked by someone else accepting it as a medium of exchange.
