No way, the selloff started way before the conflict resumed. Oil started spiking at around July 7th, which is when MU was already like 25% off of its ATH. And from technicals the current price has breached pretty much any sort of downwards trend line.

The uncertain one is training. Still not decided but kimi 3 puts a big stick in the spokes.

So the Hormuz strait is closed (for real this time, zero crossings), and now we just got news that two Saudi tankers turned around after warnings from the Houthis. When Russia invaded Ukraine oil went to $120 despite the fact that, at most, only a couple hundred thousand barrels were taken off the market. Now we're looking at 20 MILLION BARRELS of crude taken off the market PER DAY, in a world in which stockpiles are nearing critically low levels, and oil is $90.
Make it make fucking sense. It can't be as fake and gay as it seems.

But the 3-2-1 crack spread is the one telling the truth. It's not barrels that matter the most, as much as refining capacity evaporating each passing day. You will live to see a barrel of oil go negative while you will pay your refined product 9$ at the pump.

if you're an active trader it's rough, if you're holding for growth, meh. today has been weird though, pump and volume died at about 10. See the crack spread doesn't make sense to me either. Sure, Russian refining capacity is down and it makes sense for refined products to be more expensive, but crude supply is down ever more. We're talking almost the entirety of middle eastern oil output. Ask someone a year ago about losing all the supply from the middle east and they'd tell you it would be apocalyptic, but now that it's actually happened...nothing. Something isn't right.

They are running down the last of the heavy sour crude part of the SPR (the reserve isn’t just oil. It’s many types of oil grades). Also refined reserves being emptied.

The refineries are running near or even over 100% capacity. Unwise for extended periods. The damn will burst soon enough.

first of all babe, it's faker and gayer than it seems but i'm not gonna risk my life explaining. second of all crude inventories are a thing and they were at their highest level ever before the war, almost as if a lot of people were anticipating this for a long time. third of all it's not all of the mideast oil, saudi has an outlet for like 40%, and it's not as efficient but you can truck oil elsewhere to be shipped, also the uae has a pipeline that bypasses the strait as well. also they could ramp production in north america if they needed. the only reason someone might have said that a year ago is because they weren't situationally aware regarding the state of the oil market. if they keep hormussy blocked for a year or more things get "bad" as in oil gets expensive and the plastic bag factories in sri lanka and indonesia shut down. journalists and traders need to make a buck so they pretend it's a big deal but it's really not that serious, at least yet, and it would not be an impossible task to unblock the strait if it were to become serious. there's more i'd say too but not here.

>but crude supply is down ever more
Yes... and no. SPR (US, Japan, Europe) took over, and they took over hard. Not sufficient by themselves, but then China in a crazy move completely cut their imports by half (and thus ran their own SPR as well, obviously).
Now, does it warrant a barrel price as low as what we're seeing, I'd say no, but there are reasons as why it's like this *right now*. We're ticking on borrowed time thanks to the SPR. Really, it's understated how massive the effect is on the market. But then again, the market should price the future, and clearly, it's pricing at best 3 days ahead, if not two. And everything is like this. If you read the words "priced in" by someone, discard everything he said, because the markets don't price the future other than the next 3 days. If not less. And with myopia, at that.
Also kek, I don't even what to look at what pic related will look like in December

Ironic that somehow despite being the owners of the company, you lose it all but the company continues to exist and they also keep their jobs. Huh, I had no idea. They primarily export to Italy, the Netherlands and France too. That makes the Brent price behavior even weirder.

Do you support Iran?

That has been true, historically. Allow me to observe that while chip stocks are zooming, the hyperscalers are crabby or red. That is not necessarily a good sign -- no matter what you're invested in.

That's because nobody knows who will win the AI race or if there will even be a winner. For al intents and purposes they are just throwing cash into a black hole so it makes sense they will crab and go down until they stop. The day they stop they will go up just like META did when they stopped wasting money trying to make the metaverse a thing.
If you are unsure about the situation just buy an ETF for the entire tech sector and then you don't need to worry.

If you like MELI then check out NU. Big upside potential, growing into new latam markets and already consolidated in brazil, also just got approved to operate in america.

We dumped because hedgies were taking profits from the maximum greed moonshot back in April - June. It was also a strategic play to liquidate baggies who bought in at the top (something like 3% of the Korean population got margin called). Now that prices are at reasonable levels again hedgies are buying back in. Of course the risk is that they could pull the same trick if the prices climb back higher, but we will see.

I don't think it's a risk, but more like a certainty.

Hello again, the market is going to crash tomorrow. Been waiting on possible good news and it isn't coming. Had a lot of hope this morning. Since the market tracks my life, its going to crash tomorrow.

it's a direct competitor to MELI as MELI also offer similar fintech services but, MELI offer a whole load other stuff ontop of that.
