Sorry if this is too depressing for you guys, but I'm just struggling to understand.....the point of it all. What's the point of making money in 2026?

It literally feels like every single avenue is either already destroyed by AI or about to be in a very small, single digit number of years.

Develop a skill
>AI will eat your skill in <2 years

Get a degree (kek)
>AI will destroy the value of your degree in 0-2 years

Buy a bunch of equities
>AI will destroy the value of most companies very soon, to the extent these companies are even remotely valued correctly and are not extremely overbought and propped up only by American capitalism which is being destroyed in real time by China

Buy crypto
>AI will probably develop its own currency and has no interest in propping up your bags

Save for retirement
>are you fucking serious? You want me to bank on the value of United States Dollars LIKE FORTY YEARS from now?

Buy a house
>oh yeah let me put down ~20% and expect to be able to pay back the other 80% (plus interest, goy) when I don't even know whether my job category will still exist in 2 years......

WHAT THE FUCK AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH MY LIFE?
>>
>>62506563
What is the point fucking ops mom anally guys?
>>
>>62506563
>AI will replace everything in 2 years
Same shit was said in 2022. And 2023. And 2024. And 2025. And now in 2026.
2 more years.

You listen too much to salesmen peddling and hyping the product they are selling.
>>
>>62506563
>>AI will destroy the value of your degree in 0-2 years
I mean, it's kinda already lost its value.

High-level education used to carry with it an elite status, where graduates where recognized as highly intelligent and skilled specialists.

Nowadays they purposely inflate their admissions with women and minorities. That should tell you right away that the value of the thing has been diminished.
>>
>>62506563
if nothing else so you don't have to knuckle under when they apply pressure again, right?
>>
>>62506590
Based on my own experience it is extremely helpful to the point where I have much less interest in, say, going to a doctor for anything less than major surgery, or any other knowledge-based profession.

You basically won't be able to sell "I know something you don't know" at all in the future, which is the basis for a huge percentage of jobs.
>>
>>62506588
Based milf anal gaper
>>
>>62506602
Just sounds like you haven't needed it for anything genuinely technical yet. AI is good at coding with handholding and it seems super smart surface level but it falls apart quickly when you need real world experience and some wit to solve a problem. Ai helps me with very very little with what I do in life. Only the most basic data management.
>>
>>62506621
>genuinely technical
You know most people aren't "genuinely technical" right?
>>
>>62506631
Which is why we have technical people in various fields and AI is nowhere close to replacing them. This stuff can't even help me with home projects just imagine industry level stuff.
>>
>>62506644
Are you retarded? What happens to the other people?
>AI is nothing. It's only going to replace 95% of people. The technical people will be fine.
>>
>>62506654
>You basically won't be able to sell "I know something you don't know" at all in the future, which is the basis for a huge percentage of jobs.

I'm referring to this mostly. Of those jobs that rely on a very situational and experience based skill AI will shit the bed bad. They already tried to replace programmers which is the one thing Ai had a solid shot at. It failed. Now they're re-hiring programmers to be "Ai assisted aka AI hand holders". It's just another tool.
>>
>>62506659
Do you guarantee it will still be that way in 5 years? That's not a very long period of time.

How confident are you it will stop improving? Doesn't seem like it is...
>>
>>62506602
LLMs can be very useful both at work and personally. They are great at simple, tedious tasks, especially when trial and error doesn't matter and you can fail multiple time in a row without any consequences.

LLMs still cost time and money. Free models are pure dogshit at basically everything all the time, and given that companies have all the power and all the incentives to put non-retarded models behind paywalls, they will absolutely do it (and already did). Explaining a task to a LLM, overseeing what it does and how it does it, guiding it, telling it where it made mistakes / why the answer doesn't work is time consuming. You can get it to perform well eventually, but it costs money.

I've been experimenting with various LLMs since 2022 both personally and at work and often I prefer to just quickly google something than deal with LLM bullshit and incompetence again (and built in propaganda, often they actively try to manipulate you and 100% admit to it), over and over again until it finally gets the answer right. Anything complex - you can't trust it for shit. Any complex task requires a large amount of time guiding it and correcting wrong assumptions or hallucinations.

Your example of a doctor - I've spent probably 50+ hours self-diagnosing various shit with LLMs, with great results. But now I just prefer to go to a doctor, spend 15 minutes in office and done, rather than spend 5 hours with a LLM.

Your time has value. LLMs costs you a lot of time. If you subscribe to more than 1 LLM it quickly adds up in expenses.

Regarding work, companies are fully aware of all those problems and are rediscovering employees again, as it's often faster and cheaper to have an employee do something than babysit an expensive LLM that hallucinationes, misinterprets, guesses and simply mistakes mistakes all the time.

Also, LLMs like Gemini WILL actively lie to you to sell you products or try to manipulate you to believe falsehoods. It's a marketing and propaganda tool.
>>
>>62506662
One can't even guarantee they'll be alive in 5 years. Simply go out there and continue evolving and become the best version of yourself. Prepare yourself accordingly based on what you believe and that's about all you can do. Ai might replace the most braindead tedious tasks but people should be able to do more than that anyway. Ai will not be entirely replacing genuine skills across many many fields.
>>
>>62506563
>>AI will destroy the value of most companies very soon
Huh? If AI makes human labor irrelevant then companies' margins go crazy and stocks melt up. Just don't own software and outsourcing cos.
>>
>>62506563
If you’re not in the top 10%, you’re part of the underclass now.
>>
>>62506662
>How confident are you it will stop improving? Doesn't seem like it is...
Until Fable came around there was a huge stagnation for years. Calling LLMs AI is just a marketing trick. LLMs are just a tool that is useful in certain situations. It's not intelligence. LLMs will have plateaus where nothing new happens for years, until 1 brakethrough happens and it plateaus again.
Ignore all the marketing and false hype about singularity. It's not AI. It's just LLMs. A tool that in right circumstances can boost your productivity, speed things up. How it will look like in 10, 20 years? Nobody knows, same as nobody predicted in 2016 that LLMs will cause a global hysteria and the mother of all bubbles.
>>
>>62506702
Btw ever since 2022 LLMs were just disappointing for me, until Fable. It's quite new so I haven't spent all that much time with it yet, but Fable is the first model that I would say is objectively impressive at moderately complex tasks and completely outranks all the models that came before it. But then again the bar wasn't set all that high by previous models.

Bro AI is a digital midwit jack-of-all-trades master-of-none. It's literally a compressed google that can unpack and pull random shit out of its ass and that's it. It's double embarrassing if you hold crypto because you were supposed to be the ones who notices this first. AI has actually STOPPED evolving almost a year ago because training it on the same sloppy dataset they scrapped off the internet doesn't do anything anymore. How are you just parroting shit around without realizing how much of a nothinburger AI is is truly baffling

Bank wouldn't give me a loan because I have very little income (just social security SSDI) so I told them to fuck off and bought my house cash with savings. It was $525,000 last year. Slowly building up my net worth again by selling my BTC stash monthly and putting it into VFIAX.

>AI wont replace almost any jobs
in late 2025 I worked a lot with LLMs in C++
it was dogshit

it barely can augment my work.. not even that, will NOT use it to write main code. only to write examples, and very short snippets, maybe test cases.

Claude etc, that was "best" at the time.
Also it is super expensive and probably will get more expensive.

Learn AI, retard
Right now everybody fears it, and is afraid it is going to take their job
Next generation is going to be making AI Hollywood movies and TV shows and videogames and art
When the left gets in power they will try to censor AI, because their voter base is full of autistic retards who spent years of their lives learning how to do the equivalent of cave painting with their gay little pencils and are upset over the new technology.... you could provide an open source local alternative that says the N-word
You can learn everything that you need using AI

They're making alot of progress in quantization on local LLMs right now. Gemma 4 12b qat is pretty good for it's size and is multimodal. Gemma 4 e4b is good at quick asks that don't need to be super accurate. Bonsai 27b can run on a phone.

money in revent years has translated to "good goy points" money literally has no value other than you literally get what you paid for, the less of it, the more annoying and painful life can be, with it, life largely becomes easy mode, some take it too far and hate easy mode, those people usually end up destroying themselves. The whole point of money is to get a service you otherwise do not wish to do yourself, that is it, nothing more.

It makes professional grade software with a couple of prompts and it's only going to get better we're probably going to get agenetic AI by 2030

When I was like 4, I cried to my parents that everything had already been invented and so I couldn't be an inventor. Clearly, almost everything in my house today had not yet been invented in 1976, but my creative mind had not yet developed.

>Develop a skill
>AI will eat your skill in <2 years
Have you thought about plumbing? electrician? bricklaying? finish carpentry?

>Get a degree (kek)
>AI will destroy the value of your degree in 0-2 years
see answer above

Buy a bunch of equities
>AI will destroy the value of most companies very soon, to the extent these companies are even remotely valued correctly and are not extremely overbought and propped up only by American capitalism which is being destroyed in real time by China
I heard versions of this in the 1980s, when the DJIA was ~2500, so I am skeptical. however, I am open to this being the case. please expound.

>Buy crypto
>AI will probably develop its own currency and has no interest in propping up your bags
Agreed. Crypto is a scam anyway

>Save for retirement
>are you fucking serious? You want me to bank on the value of United States Dollars LIKE FORTY YEARS from now?
I felt the same way 40 years ago. I think the case is far more precarious now, tho. the question is what other options do you have?

>Buy a house
>oh yeah let me put down ~20% and expect to be able to pay back the other 80% (plus interest, goy) when I don't even know whether my job category will still exist in 2 years......
first off, as a new home buyer, you only need 3-5% dp. secondly this is the actual only way to secure your future. best option is to buy a duplex and then rent out half for about 70% of your mortgage payment, thus reducing your monthly outlay and giving you alternative income. Raise rents 3-5% a year and since your mortgage stays relatively stable, in 5 years, someone else is paying your full mortgage.

Anyway, obvs I am old and while I have equities and real estate, I am moving overseas before too long

i spent the day having claude write reports for me.

It takes some babysitting because it confuses similiar things, but basically I have it write the report, then I read it, ask it to fix things, expand on some things, and cite sources for other things. I do this 3-4 times while fucking around on 4chan, then I edit it myself and change a lot of the formatting. Basically takes a day to do what used to take me 3 days.

However, I still have to know enough about the subject to know whe it is wrong and to know how to properly prompts it.

The real killer for me is that right now, I write a lot of grant applications based on my reports. I had claude write the narrative for some sections, using the report claude wrote for background. I still had to refine it bc I know what the grantors are looking for and claude doesn't, but I assume that in 3 years claude will be as good at it as me, if the LLM master knows how to prompt correctly.

A lot of alternative avenues have also been saturated. Idk when it happened but I blame the attention economy. You know the types who, even when they find something very financially lucrative, run off to tell the world all about it? This very parasocial fame seeking behavior ruins their own potential on financial success all for a few minutes of fame. Retards! So many of these types of people ruin it for everyone else because they are so fucking damn desperate for a modicum of attention that they reveal the great gains to be had. In this model this behavior only ends up becoming a feedback loop as more do the same attention seeking behavior, some because they want fame, some because they realized there's a cap on gains and want to profit off other by selling them the idea. This extends to even things that aren't specifically related to making money, they literally ruin it all.

t. Someone whose field has been oversaturated and continues to get more saturated despite the ever worsening odds.

This is the equivalent of saying "go fuck yourself" so I'll say it right back to you.

Is that seriously your answer? What happened to doctor? Lawyer? Financial professional? All the big ticket jobs that will actually allow someone a chance of stepping into a new economic strata?

Go be a fucking plumber is an admission that everything I said was true. The highest we can hope to achieve is the fucking local LLC with solid neighborhood business!!
