What the fuck ever happened to people advocating for a balanced budget? In the 90s, even Democrats fought for balanced budgets. Now it seems like nobody gives a fuck on either side. This is concerning but it's also bad for our investments.
>>62511174It's good if you don't invest in dollars. Inflation always makes assets go up.
>>62511174Cutting 2 trillion per year from the economy would decimate it for a decade
>>62511174Because smart, pragmatic people are boring to listen to. Chimpanzees are drawn to emotion and theater.
sorry op, we have to keep giving hundreds of billions of dollars to the mic, big tech, banks, and the pharmaceutical cartel (they're keeping all the money by the way, no spendy spendy)
>>62511345Real assets like houses already peaked, now it's just commodities catching up. Stocks aren't real assets, most don't even pay dividends. At some point the money chasing stocks is going to go back towards real things.
>>62511174In the 90s the democrats weren't run by black women with an IQ of 73, theres yiur answer
>>62514656this is why girls leave me and why all girls and idiots worship elon
>>62511174The system is designed to run on deficit.>can't raise taxes without losing an election>CAN increase deficit without anyone other than lolbertarians caring>just keep printing money to cover the debt>the populace is too dumb to realize that money printing is a passive tax on the middle to lower classesThere is no stopping this. Every single empire you can imagine succumbed to money printing or debasement. Store your wealth in assets that cannot be printed en mass by the gov.
>>62514872Unfortunately, you're making a logical fallacy by assuming the converse.
The most logical thing would be to spend only the amount the US needs to actually defend itself. This would be basically nothing other than maintenance for the next 30 years. You could probably do it with 30 billion. You could use the rest for free healtcare and college and subsidies to create new housing and shit like that and still reduce the deficit, that's how bloated the pentagon's budget is.
>>62511174Too late. Once the government broke its last promise to redeem the dollar for gold, the brakes were gone. All roads lead to inflationary collapse. And it won't be long now.
>>62511345Inflation is the prime cause of the "k" shaped economy. Inflation makes the elite richer and everyone else poorer.
>>62511174It cannot be balanced, the shot callers know this and pray for some sort of economic revolution via AI but otherwise are trying to keep you calm long enough so that they can make enough money to get away from you. All major powers have tried simultaneous stimulus via arms manufacture funded by debt. This way the currencies fool people because they seem stable relative to each other but thats harder to hide from everything outside of currency pairs. Stimulus from bombs was never going to work because its a zero sum game for most nations, cannot eat a m242 bushmaster or use it to increase broader market activity, and if you use them like America has you literally burn money while commodities increase in price. Buy gold or commodities or prepare to suffer. Everything gets more expensive, capital rotation is unavoidable because tech cannot run on money alone and even if they could most of the companies are not making a profit. The economy is shaping up to fuck everyone in currently favorable assets. Don't be where they are. Gold revaluation is a one shot for America to get some breathing room at the permanent expense of their credit and affordability. They will use this precious time to build things that matter, as China did, or they will perish.
>>62515887"gold revaluation" is a childish accounting trick akin to printing a trillion dollar coin to pay down the debt. entirely meaningless
