I have been driving a shitbox my whole life and im tired of fixing it, its costing like 3k a year at this point. Is 118k enough to afford a 600-700 doller a month finance payment on a new car? I feel like i make poverty wage sometimes..
>>62511926>dollerThis board is 80IQ
>>62511943At my last job I was making 104k a year and one of the reason I got fired was cuz of spelling. I found a 118k job a week later. Tell me about how proper spelling got u a 15 percent promotion..
>>62511945If that's true, that's pretty funny. I've never heard of someone getting canned for that. You get fired over spelling and it doesn't occur to you to try a bit harder? Come on man
>>62511945People in third world countries barely make 3k a year
>>62511926Buy a 4 year old with low milage in cash
>>62511926Just buy a Toyota that's 5 years old and you won't have to fix it. No need for a new car that's immediately going to put you in negative equity,
>>62511926It really isn't enough, you're going to spend like 10% of your net worth on payments/insurance/gas annual forever? In that context all it says is you're so poor that your assets don't allow you to pay for that shit.>It's costing like 3k a year at this point>Better go spend $8400 a year plus down payment plus insurance instead!3k a year is pretty reasonable and honestly the answer is to get a different shit box if the maintenance is really consistently too high.I am now worth over $25MM so I will be buying a Tesla Model YL because the value of not having to drive is tremendous in a way merely having a nicer car or one with lower annual maintenance just doesn't cut. But I've been driving 10-15 year old cars for my whole life up to this point.
just pay cash and buy a prius
>>62511945holler holler get doller
Life is short, buy something you enjoy driving, doesn’t have to be expensive…for me, it’s a Subaru wrx…basically an econobox that is still fun to drive
Keep the shitbox and fix it. The forbidden knowledge is eventually you run out of things that need fixing, you aren't going to need to replace an engine every few years. Even a simple wheel bearing is something you will only ever have to change once for the life of a car.Whatever the cost of fixing up the car and replacing most key components, it will STILL be nowhere near what you will pay for a newer car that is depreciating like fuck.
>>62514115Sunken cost fallacy
>>62512867What do u mean forever? Its a 6 year finance and new cars last till 250k easy. I can keep driving my shitbox till I get to ur level but its costing 3k a year to maintain and the finance would cost 6k a year. Is 3k a year really that important? Honest question. I mean putting 3k a year into nivida in the 2010 woild have been worth driving a shitbox for sure so idk..
>>62513466I dont enjoy driving and its making me confined to my house so I want a fsd tesla that will take me places. Also traffic for work>>62514115Sounds smart and retarded at the same time
>>62515347That’s cool, I hope you get one
>>62515337>Finance is $6k a yearBruh you just said $600-$700 a month. That's $7200-$8400 a year. If that's even your actual monthly payment. Plus insurance on a new car. I'm calling it $10k.>It's just 6 years!Ok it's not forever $10k, necessarily. You're going to be an unc when it's paid off. And then you're shelling out for maintenance....and how long are you keeping it then? Meanwhile if you just invested what you'd have paid for a new car you'd basically be generating enough money to pay car expenses forever
>>62515706>>62515347Aye lmao plus another $1200 for FSD subscription
