Is working remote as good as people make it sound? I got an offer but it's a $30K pay cut.
>>62514814Depends on how task oriented you are and how many meetings/calls/questions from co-workers you will have to answer per day. It is great if you just get tasks that you need to get done, smash them out in the morning and have free afternoons for vidya/workouts etc. if you are shit at getting yourself going then it is bad.
>>62514814what % cut? way different going from 110 to 80 compared to going from 300 to 270
>>62514814I find that whore still sexy, even today. What's her secret?
>>62514814You get a lot more free time. You basically roll out of bed and 30 seconds later you're at work. When it's time to leave you stand up and you're home. No more sitting in traffic, or having to buy gas every week. Saves a lot on car wear and tear too. You also get perks like being able to throw a load of laundry in during your breaks or if you get really lucky and the job is slow paced you can get all your chores done and be paid to do it.The ONLY downside is you basically can never take an unscheduled day off. Normies also say you get lonely but I also say fuck them.

>>62514814I will NEVER go back to the office. I took a 60k+ salary cut a couple of years ago when my old company forced RTO and I don't regret it.The modern office is a grim hell-hole for anyone except for the most insufferable basic normies. I will NOT submit to corporate humiliation rituals. I will continue to work productively from my laptop like I always have. You have one life. Make it nice.
>>62514814Upside: EverythingDownside: Make less, get fired more easily. Boomoids really love staring at you in the office and making your life harder for no good fucking reason.
It's great, do itOne downside I didn't expect was the loneliness: the only people I talk to most days are my wife and my cat, I miss coffee breaks...
>>62515060get some hobbies cunt.just because you work from your house doesn't mean you're not allowed to leave it.
>>62515060Since when have normies infiltrated this forum?
>>62514814It's amazing l. Offices now look like prisons to me.
>>62514814I basically would never even consider a job requiring me to be in the office 5 days per week. Anything more than a hybrid 3-in-2-out schedule is a major red flag for me when considering jobs because those remote days are so damn valuable to me.Pros of working remotely:Sleep inNo rush through the morning routineNo smalltalk with annoying coworkersNo performative busyness Cook all my meals from scratchDo chores around the house during the dayCons of working remotely:Easier to get firedHarder to get promotedReally the sweet spot is to get a hybrid schedule. Makes it harder for your job to get outsourced and gives you the chance to let people see you working, while also retaining most of the benefits of working remotely. A job would have to pay me like 20% over market to get me to be in 5 days per week as a matter of course.
>>62514814The down side is you don't get to harass office sluts anymore which over time adds up as that was one of the best parts of the job.The thing is were social animals and after higher education we literally dont have any formal socialisation options. Online friends only go so far.Having a group of people you see daily actually does a lot over the long term to maintain social contact.I suppose the caveat is if your okay looking and not socially retarded.Like if you go to work and hot women at work who are married talk to you actively, go out of their way to interact. Then going to the office is better than rotting at home. But if your some ugly chud and women simply dont talk to you, then I can understand why you'd think sitting at home playing video games every day is the epitome of enjoyment.
>>62514814It really depends on the commute and how rigorous is the job.Obviously if you are spending time commuting that is effectively unpaid work, and you are paying for fare/gas/tolls/maintance on vehicle. If your job is easy and doesn't require much actual time worked, being in the office prevents you from doing something useful around the house or working a second job. If you have a kid you need to get child care, more of your money down the drain to be in the office.I'd quit my current hybrid job for 10-20k pay cut no question asked if I was offered remote. Truth be told I find it easier to be productive working in an office. However, my current employers motto should be "do less with more!", so IDGAF about being productive here.
>>62515200Obviously wfh is better than going to office. Why is this even a discussion?Work is shit bro and anyone who says otherwise is lying.
>>62515207Eh I had a job with a 20 minute commute, doing interesting work, with coworkers that I liked. I pretty much went in five days all week even when it wasn't required.Of course like all good things in life I got laid off from that good job and I have had shit jobs since then. FML.
>>62515229> pretty much went in five days all week even when it wasn't required. This sound quite pathetic, honestly.
>>62515168>The down side is you don't get to harass office sluts anymorehavent been able to do that since 2003
>>62515229You got laid off cause you showed up when you didn’t need too lmao.
>>62515168>chudUsing that word already lets us know your dysgenic.
>>62514814Would working remote help me get an Avril Lavigne wife?
>>62515060>wifeHow are you lonely, are you just a social butterfly or something?
>>62515269He isnt a marrycel like u. Loser.
>>62515299I'm not a marrycel, I'm a 31yo khhv with $1m nw
>>6251481430k pay cut is ok because with remote jobs you actually can just stack them. im currently doing 3 remote jobs 1 is IT support 2 are call reps. you just have to be good at juggling 2 phones and using a mute button but its not a big deal and doesnt happen too often. if you ever get a time consuming task or customer and get called for something from the other job you just use the bathroom excuse "im in the bathroom rn, will be available in 5 minutes"
>>62514866This. Also how much time are you not wasting driving to and from office, how much can you handle not socializing with your coworkers, can you handle being alone and under your own control well, how much you do dillydally at home, are you ok with needing spyware on your work devices? Personally I'd not do wfh exclusively if I was unmarried.
>>62514814What's a good remote job for someone with no expirence. I'm Canadian work experience is 4 years as an infantryman, 7 years as a naval weapons engineer but mostly did board party/ship security stuff when they found out I was army before. Did 1 year working the oil patch and went to school for manual and cnc machining. Ive got another 40k in schooling money I can get from the va.
>>62515505You are going to have to apply for warehouse jobs.
>>62515558Probably right. I just wanna stay home, play vidya and workout. Could I be an online personal trainer?
>>62515577You could be, no idea. You can do in person for sure.
>>62515060>has a wife>feels lonelyThis motherfucker.
>>62515601Not every one gets married and gives up on life. Spending your life with one same woman is slave tier.
>>62514992She's white

>>62514814depends. are you introverted or extroverted? do you have a nagging wife or kids?>OP is a 1pbtid faggotwhy did I waste time on this shit...
>>62515628It's based if you love each other however
>>62515060normie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!>>62515078ive been seeing them for a while. stopped sharing alpha cause normies who come here will like run and tell everyone and completely ruin it. all for some updoots on redd*t or likes on instagram or something
>>62516086Sorry I was in the office and just got back home. In the middle of that spectrumNo wife or kids
imagine eating her pussy in 2004
>>62514814>sleep until 5 min before start>get dressed, shit, bathe on the clock>quick errands on the clock>save on gas>save hours not having to commute>cook and make coffee yourself, cheaper, better, and healthier>choose where you live. Location's the biggest factor in QOL so long as you're above poverty level. Find and move to your ideal city/town.The only real downsides are if you don't have a life outside work or reason to leave the house, you'll go insane and your social skills will rot. Also takes a little discipline to put in more than a couple hours of real work.
>>62515078Ikr what a fag
