Any boomers here?
I'd like to know how the markets were back in the 70s and 90s and if you see any comparison to todays markets?!
How much shilling existed back then? Were the IPOs overpriced? How many people were into stocks back then? What percentage of those for youths (GenX)? Was the stock market also considered gambling back then, similar as the Koreans are using it now?
Was the premise back then "It always goes up"? How many of your stocks that you invested in actually pumped and how many dumped for eternity (success/failure-ratio)?

Maybe you should have asked this 2 years ago before everyone fled the board

It's a combination of both collapses. At least I the .com bubble gold was an asset to flee to. Personally I think the market is set up currently for a 20's style crash. Similar wealth distribution as well, so expect global conflict over resources to pay soverign debts and then another leftward shift in economic policy a la great new deal 2.0
>>
In the scenario I mentioned above the US will be playing the role of Germany played and China the role the US played.

Imo get ready to either fight for your lives or flee. I personally plan to fight because Germany almost won, and not every story plays out the exact same.

It's why "line always goes up" is such shit.
Everyone at some point soon is going to get rekt for 70-80%.
Yes, your NEW money you add in after that will ride the recovery wave but your old money will stay rekt for many years to come. If you have ANY thoughts in the next ~20 years about retiring or hoping your investments grow to heavily supplement your income, you should be very worried.
"Line always go up" when you zoom the fuck out all the way, but that isn't your liveable lifetime.

how do you plan to "fight" exactly
>>
>>62517909
>germany almost won
>unified race of people with the same cultural values
>muttamerica somaliland is the new germany
>up against 1.5 billion homogenous chinese

Yeah, I think I know how this plays out.

"What kind of American are you?"

I keep seeing these sorts of statements going back all the way to 2008, there's like 500 instances of "all the oldfags already left" in the span of 18 years and none of them are true
