Why do so few /biz/ anons build businesses? Is the risk/reward ratio just not there anymore for most people? Is building a business no longer a life hack to making it?

I remember seeing some video of a dumb bitch saying that she should've spent her student loan money to "buy a business" instead of college and I'm starting to think that's how most people view businesses. An actual business isn't something you just do on the side occasionally like buying or selling stocks or whatever. It takes a huge amount of dedication and really needs to be something you're passionate in or else you'll hate your life. If you don't ;pve working then you do not start a business

And the going rate is FAR MORE MONEY than wagies realize. And what always happens if you work for less than the next guy is you get swamped with work and raise your prices. People have no idea how much self employed tradies are making selling to businesses. Hundreds of dollars per hour and still turning down work every day because they're too busy
