Good companies like square enix and nintendo are trucking along as if there's no crash at all. There hasn't been a brand new 3D Mario or Zelda (I'm not counting ToTK as brand new) in 9 years, Metroid Prime 4 was a disaster after an 8-year dev cycle, they celebrated Mario's 40th anniversary with a movie, and their biggest releases this year are two N64 remakes and Fire Emblem (lmao).
