What mistakes did he make from businessmaking prespective?
>>
>>62542950
he should have pitched 4chan as a mvp and given peter thiel a handjob for 600m in angel investment
>>
>>62542950
not requiring a login account and email address to post
>>

Making an edgy anonymous imageboard was his first and biggest mistake. It clearly wasn't about the money at that time, though he did try to monetize this place after the fact of course.

He never committed to meaningful moderation

The real answer is that his time at Google coincided with a massive wave of political correctness and censorship, meaning most of his colleagues and supervisors were probably disgusted and agitated for him to be let go.
Now no one gives a shit anymore, he could be a director at X or probably even get a government job, but his timing was just off.
>>
Hired either too many or not enough pedophiles.
>>
>>62542950
From a business perspective he made a platform that couldn’t be monetized except by porn ads. He then got a shitty job at google

i posted this yesterday and i will post it again, hiromoot has to sell 4chan merch.
no one is willing to pay for a subscription but everyone and their mother would be happy to pay 19.99 for an official 4chan mug

A lad who carries luggage for the ladies

Christopher Poole Moot the man who founded this site after Something Awful banned Anime discussion,
Luggage lad refers to a meme image of him describing him carrying luggage for a romantic interest iirc as a single man
>>
>>62542950

Someone has post the shoop of him with his cock out. lol lmao

I think he got spooked once he realized that actual Government three-letter agencies, foreign government agencies, "NGOs", etc. were already positioning to use the website for various agit-prop reasons.

Things probably got pretty real, real fast once he realized the implications of that. So Moot ends up selling the site quicker and got a worse deal than he could have if he had stayed patient and played the game a little bit

Other than that I thing he did pretty well for himself. The original 4chan spirit in the early days was a beautiful thing, unfortunately the internet became a tool for propaganda and browns posting AI slop, and 4chan was inevitably dragged down the drain along with the rest of the internet

Basically, becoming John McAfee

Maybe he should have sold a little sooner and spent more time developing Canvas? Anything that would have been good business move would have turned the site to shit anyway.
If you were intent on turning website into a relevant and profitable venture, maybe switching the site's purpose into a hobbyist marketplace could work.
For example, the /po/ board could have a little marketplace where some someone could publish some original origami works for sale. Same with /vr/ and old game mods. Maybe fanfics or original doujins on /e/-/h/-/d/. There was the crew on /a/ that made Katawa Shoujo, that could have sold super well.

Love these ideas

Also this would've been a little jeety, but /x/ could've had something where if you like a poster's creepypastas enough, you could subscribe to them or pay like $1/story or whatever. Could even work some sort of crypto bullshit into that. I just think about "The Backrooms" and the anon who wrote the original

moot's mistake objectively was this
>radioactive baggage from 4chan that was only getting worse as the culture wars started up
>but he wanted to leverage his fame from 4chan as a startup founder
He needed to launder his involvement with 4chan when he was getting startup money for canvas. He didn't need to predict the culture war it was just smarter for someone who knew 'the internet never forgets' back in 2002 to never have shown his real face at an anime convention just to say "Hey guise, I'm moot".
No benefit of hindsight needed. Guy already knew.
