I read finance books hoping they'll teach me how to invest or something but they all just end up telling you to buy a low cost index fund and hold it forever.
>>
well yea, they're reliable and basically guaranteed to give you a significant yield over the years, what were you expecting?

it deals with the psychology behind trading
it might wont help you win if your personality is whacked from years of instant gratification conditioning but itll at least give you insight into why youre such a loser

There's no guarantee, NPCs might wake up and make a trend out of it, then you will get billions of NPCs dumping their life savings into your fund and hyperinflating everything.
They will then immediately cash out that money and go buy funko pops and iPhone 18 while you will be doing math on how fucked you are (the result is yes).

They're books sold for profit so they have to target the larger audience. Any advice other than "buy index fund and hold it forever" is too complicated for the average person. Add to this that holding an index fund forever really is a good choice for anyone to make and you're not going to find a book that talks about anything else.

in this kind of field you are better off knowing less especially when it comes to risks. stop reading finance books and just buy spy.

These books have multiple advices. It's just you who remember only one of them.

wut? no
finance influencers and course sellers do anything but tell people to just buy index funds
if you want to "sell for profit" you will be peddling the get rich quick garbage
