I care very little about tipping. Not having to tip is equally as good as 20% tipping to encourage good service, and since the most servers are women, and women deserve to be in roles like waiting tables and service instead of being doctors and lawyers.

The bartenders will grow impatient if you're not tipping and constantly buying drinks. I personally tried it out a while and found it a horrible ROI. Didn't like the drunk dudes fighting each other for every half decent roastie and even if I brought a girl back she would starfish or fall asleep once she hit the bed, then you wake up in the morning and realize she's got 10 pounds of makeup on and doesn't even look the same when it rubs off.

If people know how much bartenders and waiters actually make, and how they waste all of that money on cocaine and vacations, they wouldn't give them a dollar. But they have established this "woe is me" narrative where everyone is screaming at them constantly and they are barely scraping by. Just stop and think, "How is this aspiring actor / stand up comedian / motivational speaker living in New York City, paying rent, taking acting classes, and partying on the weekends with their apparently meager waiter tip income?" If you want to see real misery, go to a Midwestern hell town where the only job anywhere is at the Tyson chicken plant, and they can barely rent a single wide and buy canned food at Walmart.
