Should tipping be a thing? How much do you tip when going out?

go out?

I'm European so no we don't do that here.

Crazy Americans are expected to tip because their waitresses somehow only make like 3 dollars an hour and need the rest in handouts from the customers lol. That should would never fly here. Just put the correct prices on the menu and pay your workers properly.
>>
I care very little about tipping. Not having to tip is equally as good as 20% tipping to encourage good service, and since the most servers are women, and women deserve to be in roles like waiting tables and service instead of being doctors and lawyers.

Oh nevermind I didnt know this was the demotivational bot thread. I'll see myself out.

you know, bars, restaurants

>>62549787
this. I personally will leave something, but unless it's extraordinary service I'll leave like 10% or $5 max.

Most of the time these people just push you to buy alcohol or appetizers with no protein. Last time I went out the guy asked 3 times for each and said if I was sure I wanted to go straight to the meals. Didn't even say have a nice day once he handed the check. I regret even leaving $5 t b h

I dont tip (germany) and I never will. We have shit like minimum wage which is already subsidized with my taxes. Retards here dont just tip at the restaurant they also tip their motherfucking hair dresser. Tipping has to go
>>

you a eurotard or something? here in the land of the tip the only people that drink are alcoholics and they only drink in their cars on their way to work.
>>
>>62549782
I'm done tipping. Food and service has gone to shit everywhere. It's just not worth it anymore

I live in burgerland and here every wagie and upper class college kid (with trust funds) is going out thurs-sat to drink. They spend every dime they have. The bartenders will grow impatient if you're not tipping and constantly buying drinks. I personally tried it out a while and found it a horrible ROI. Didn't like the drunk dudes fighting each other for every half decent roastie and even if I brought a girl back she would starfish or fall asleep once she hit the bed, then you wake up in the morning and realize she's got 10 pounds of makeup on and doesn't even look the same when it rubs off.

Throwing a fistful of money on the table after a wagelet grovelled for it is a power move.

German here too. I usually tip like 10% and as I go to the hairdresser like twice a year I usually tip 20€ there, because why not.
>>
>>62549782
I tip only if the service exceeded expectations, and I give 20% when it does happen. Fortunately, it happens only like once or twice a year.
>>
I'm willing to put my tip in your butthole, ma'am.

Nothing.

Tipping will always be a thing in America because Americans will always white night businesses while they pay the servers wage. It's the same as having the tariffs passed onto the consumer but then the refunds go straight to the corporations who don't need to pay it back kek
>>
>>62549782
I tip cops
>>
>>62549782
My cortisol actually spikes when I go to pay for a pickup and they swing that screen around with the tipping options. Once that happens I make it a rule to never ever go back ever again no matter how slurpy their goyslop is. As for dining in, I haven't done that in years so never tipped for that.

If people know how much bartenders and waiters actually make, and how they waste all of that money on cocaine and vacations, they wouldn't give them a dollar. But they have established this "woe is me" narrative where everyone is screaming at them constantly and they are barely scraping by. Just stop and think, "How is this aspiring actor / stand up comedian / motivational speaker living in New York City, paying rent, taking acting classes, and partying on the weekends with their apparently meager waiter tip income?" If you want to see real misery, go to a Midwestern hell town where the only job anywhere is at the Tyson chicken plant, and they can barely rent a single wide and buy canned food at Walmart. That's actual hand to mouth living.

Don't ever let Type A drama queens establish a narrative about themselves. That's their biggest strength.

I hate American culture so much
>>
>>62549782
tipping used to make sense when we were all wealthy and the food industry was full of very young men and women. now we are scraping by and some guy older than me is serving me my food, and if he's brown then I have to worry about him spitting in my food next time. it needs to be abolished asap. anytime you bring it up these parasites will crawl out to cry about it though.
>>
as long as they bring me like a whole carafe of water at the start, I have zero problems with the rest of service being bad
