How does one profit from being forced to care for boomers?
>>
Move far away and tell them "not my problem"
>>
>>62551312
how is that forcing me? that ain't forcing me to do shit.
>>
>inheritance
Lol lmao
What inheritance? A mortgaged house that is so far underwater it would be better to just build a new one with a loan?
>>
>>62551365
Waaaaaah I deserve a free McMansion
>>
>>62551312

There is no inheritance, only debt. Right now every fiber of my being is going into preemptively sorting through my parents debt laden estate. They haven't even written up a will and they have decades old negative equity from rolling over loans

>"Dont worry kiddo you can have the model train set and fine china! Antiques grow in value ya know!"

I'm very tempted to just do >>62551328
They didn't take care of thier parents and they treated me like a problem child.
>>
>>62551372
My kids will each get tens of acres of arable land and piles of precious metals. Stay mad that I'm better than you.
>>
>>62551391
You don't have kids or land

Same.

Same.
>They didn't take care of thier parents and they treated me like a problem child.
Same.
They took my money and youth from me. Sabotaged my career and relationships.
I will anhero if I have to care for them when I am old myself.
They will probably kill me before that and scam some other relative into taking care of them.

>but they'll be forced to
Is the hidden news that they are planning to pass a law?
Some countries have such laws iirc
>>
>>62551328
i moved 200 miles from my parents because there are no good jobs in rural areas. i love them but i dont know what to tell them, or what their plan is.
>>
>>62551328
Bro this doesn't stop them. They literally did this to me and I'm just realizing it. Once I established my life and career 1,800mi away, I hear from my wife my parents bought a shitty duplex on the other end of town. Fucking EVERYONE has an ulterior motive
>>
>>62551780
The majority of US states have it in the law already that you must pay for your parents' retirement home debt once they die and if you refuse the retirement home can sue you and ruin your credit.
>>
>>62552169
What happens if I don't pay?
t. non-american
>>
>>62552175
You get ordered to pay by a court of law and your earnings get garnished until you pay it off.
>>
>>62552169
i don't think it's ever enforced. i live in pennsylvania which has a filial support law. my parents never paid a dime when their parents died with massive medical bills.
>>
>>62552162
>Waaaah I have good parents waaaaaaah
>>
>>62552181
It does get enforced but very infrequently. Usually a home will only go after you for it if they think you'll roll over and pay because picking that fight with the wrong person is just asking for all the laws to be overturned by state supreme courts.
>>
>>62552179
And if I don't comply?
>>
>>62552169
No they don't retard
>>
>>62552190
Yes they do they're called filial support laws.
>>62552189
The money will start coming out of your paychecks, if you have no money at all they'd probably just write off the loss but if they're real assholes they can put liens on your stuff.
>>
>>62552195
Just buying a gun and shooting my parents is cheaper and faster then.
>>
>>62551762
>They took my money and youth from me
You did that to yourself though, and are libelling your parents in a transparent attempt to avoid responsibility for your own actions.
>>
>>62552169
No they don't.
>>
>>62552226

Good talk.
>Wiki isn't a valid source-
Each state is cited.
>>
>>62552231
Unenforceable
>but muh Pennsyltucky case
overturned on appeal. The judge had an undisclosed economic interest in the care facility. Good talk though.
>>
>>62552231
Incels spend their lives reading dumb shit like this made to make them bitter losers and it works. They are more brainwashed than boobtube boomers
>>
>>62552231
Good shill
>>
>>62552169
That's the most Jewish thing I've read all week
>>
>>62552169
I'm not paying and I don't use credit
>>
>>62552380
I don't agree with these laws, I was just pointing out they exist and you (incorrectly) argued otherwise and moved the goalposts after.
>>
>>62552169
You cannot inherit debt. This only happens if YOU put them in a home and sign YOUR name on it.
>>
>>62552675
Ordinarily yes. This is a specific exemption codified into law. However, the reason it it seldom enforced is because of the reason you mention being the precedent for all other debt.
>>
>>62552676
And these laws are unenforceable because they violate long-established contract law. A law that cannot be enforced isn't actually a law in any meaningful sense, no matter how hard you pretend it is.
>>
>>62552663
They don't exist
>>
>>62551312
have them put everything into a trust at least five years before they get sick so that they have no assets on paper and Medicare pays for everything. depending on the state and the color of your skin, you can go for those programs that pay you $30 an hour to "take care of an elderly relative". if you're white, they'll either deny you outright or audit you constantly, so beware.
