every month i spend $200 on chatgpt's highest plan so i can work on a project i explicitly wont make money off of. is this a good financial decision?

If it prevents you from blowing that money on travel, warhammer figurines, etc. I would say you can justify it from a finance perspective. Plus, as retarded as it it, I imagine "experience using chatGPT" might actually make some employers more likely to hire you these days. Though the HR jannies will probably hate you and filter you out before the boomer management can get hoodwinked by it
