I got offered a $140K a year job but the catch is that it's 60+ hours a week. Should I go for it?
>>62561006The answer is yes. Jesus OP.Work 60 hours the first 2-4 weeks and then drop it to 20. > PIP> Skip level conversations> Health concernsIt will take them months perhaps even years to get you of teh system
>>62561044No man, it's 60+ hours consistently.
>>62561006Doing what?
>>62561006How much of an upgrade is it over what you currently have? Do you think you can tolerate the long hours or would you have to e.g. give up hobbies? Even if you don't want to do it long term, is it worth it to lock in for a year and give your portfolio a boost?
Naw bro demand 40 hours or nothing
>>62561006That's 44/hour which isn't that bad.It really depends on what kinda work. 12 hour shifts between a line cook and a night guard are different worlds
>>62561314It's a finance role >>62561414I work the same hours but a bit less. However I'm tired of the hours + weekend work.
>>6256100660+ is illegal lol.Unless you got hired as a drug dealer or something.
>>62561006Fuck no. Time is way more valuable than money. You could literally die in a year or this day even.
>>62561006Even if they fire you half-a-year in, you've made a full year at the median + you max out unemployment. Thought you're really only making $90k at 40 hours a week, and then you have to work another 20 hours.
>>62561464Could be shift work, doing days or weeks on and off>>62561462>financeOh, it’s just terrible all round. The boredom of office combined with the hours of field work. I guess it depends how well you handle stress
>>62561006You have been offered a $93K a year role which they refuse to hire to hire enough staff to meet the required complement of. You're going to be exhausted, stressed out all of the time with no time for sleep/eating right/hobbies so you can make some boomer cocksucker even more money. > Yea brah but 6 figs! Yeah that lost it's clout about 10 years ago, where the equivalent salary would be $65K. Assuming you are not a zoomer and a young adult in 2016, would you think $65K was balling?
>>62561462>It's a finance rolelike a financial analyst role? Is it remote?
It really depends on the company. I've made garbage pay before with supervisors constantly up my fucking ass because they were understaffed and didn't know what the fuck they were doing and the supervisor preferred sitting on his ass and dictating things which couldn't be done.
>>62561006Are your services worth more than $41.50/hr? If no, take it.
>>62562025Let me put this in non‐ditch digging asshole terms for you; Do you think about $5,400 gross every two weeks is fair compensation for said productivity? Are you already capable of working said hours and don't have a family?
>>62562053>Do you think about $5,400 gross every two weeksI just plugged it in to ADP's calculator for my state.>$3,784.11 gross every two weekswhat is even the point of working at all?
>>62562087Are people Californians because they're stupid or are they stupid because they're Californians
