So /biz/, i want to start a business selling rare items for high prices. Is it even possible to get into the market? Where to network and how to find clients willing to pay thousands of money units for items they wont use?

Pic is an ormolu clock i got for cheaper than the expertise and i am pretty sure that the expert didnt do his research and the thing is worth more. I might have the knack for getting things, but not the one selling them

hey anon, i'm a french-fag who follows auctions regularly
the pic you posted is probably worth around 300$ at most in france
but i'm sure you could find some retard in the US who would buy it for 2 grand

the expertise says 500 € and also says that the maker is a DJ Dubois. I am pretty sure its more like DF Dubois (David-Frederic) a master from around the french revolution.

maybe you're right, I had missed that
well you gotta find someone who knows their shit to sell it now
most midwits like me won't see the difference with other 19th century clocks

yeah, i did some research before i bid on that piece. got if for 160 €. Here is a similar one that got auctioned of at Christies

https://www.christies.com.cn/en/lot/a-louis-xvi-marble-and-ormolu-mounted-4538328?intObjectID=4538328&lid=1

I dont want to sell that one, i want to know how to get clients for other pieces i could get, since the high value ones rarely get any bids or sold in the given time frame of those auctions.
