>boy am I glad I spent 40 years investing and compounding my money into index funds so I can enjoy my retirem-ACK
yepgamble myself to death it is
The demiurge cursed us so that if you save for retirement you die early. If you spend all your money you live to 98 in poverty.
Yes you are very clever to be a brokie copie. Congrats
>>62575901It only takes 20 years of investing and compounding to retire, if you're smart with your money. It takes 40 years if you raise a family, take out a mortgage, blow money on car payments and travelling or something.
>>62575960you need around 2.5 million dollars to retire comfortably alone in the USassuming 7 to 10% annual returns you would need to contribute 3000 dollars monthly to reach 2 million in 20 years
No one needs more than $3k a month to live unless you have a family.$350k in JEPQ is more than enough to never have to work.
>>62575975I did a million in 20 years with 4 kids, it's not complicated
>>62575975and if you're not a room tempie you can easily average 15-20% a year. its called QQQ. >>62576007tell me you live in a shithole without telling me. the cheapest of my rentals is now 2100 a month, 800 sqft studio.
>>62576404tell me you live in a woke gentrified kike city without telling me
>>62575901Vax status?
>>62575975Why would I want to retire around Walshartians or Bohemian Grove Pedos and Jews?
This is why I always laugh when people here feel so smug about how they're min-maxing their investing strategy to be comfortable in old age in their mid-late 60'sThe funny thing is, even if you make it to that age, nothing matters anymore anyway, being poor or rich as a old man is meaningless. You should be maximizing everything to make it rich when you're still young, not going for a strategy where you only get to make it in your 60's. You've basically already lost at that point even if you make it at that age.
>>62575975>>62575960>Not just spending every penny and dying young
>>62577475If you live with parents it's not difficult at all to have financial freedom relatively young. The reason this place makes such a big deal of it is because it's a load of mutts getting kicked out at 18 (or paying rent lol) saddled with 6 figures of debt, and a weird need to pay a 50 year mortgage on a giant cardboard home as soon as possible. Americans are financially illiterate and take delight in screwing over their own kids. You can live with parents and work menial jobs and it will be enough to effectively retire in certain parts of the world in your 30s.
>>62577475>The funny thing is, even if you make it to that age, nothing matters anymore anyway, being poor or rich as a old man is meaningless.I have met old poor people and old rich people, and one of them is waiting to die while the other is living a constant weekend
>>62577789They will both be dead soon enough.
>>62577789The old rich people still live in old bodies and close to death, no one cares about a old rich person "living it up" - its cringe that you even think its "cool" to be old and rich, as if it matters anymore.Being an old rich person is like owning a Ferrari that has the insides of a broken down honda civic, it doesn't run like a real Ferrari, it doesn't even have the real Ferrari parts inside of it anymore.
>>62579396It depends on your personality. If you are quiet, enjoy chess, art, videogames, reading etc, you will have a nice life when you are old, as long as you dont get a terrible disease. Being an old extrovert must suck though.
>>62582926>as long as you dont get a terrible disease.kekwe're in a thread where a billionaires 68 year old father just diedif he was a normie that spent age 28 to 68 grinding away for a retirement, he would have never got to enjoy it, regardless of whether he was an introvert or extrovertthe fact is this can easily happen to any of uswhich is why you should be trying to get rich when you're young, not "playing it safe" so u can be an old rich guy who is near death
>>62582926>picLiterally meAlso 2019 feels like a very recent year
>>62575901Wait until you grow up and learn that most millionaires go broke and get rich and go broke again over and over. You can easily make it in your 30's and be broke again by 50 or 60. Happens all the time even to geniuses like you.
