How are you attaining or enjoying your financial independence?
>>62578850>attainingAlmost 400k a year between me and my wife and we dont spend much
My net worth is already 20x my annual expenses so I could FIRE now. I'm still waging at least until next bull run.Don't think I'll truly retire, may start a business or just career risk max for the fun of it.
>>62578929>career risk maxWhat does that mean? Sounds exciting.
To me, FIRE is simply being mortgage free, because after that expense is gone i can just work a part time job like 2 days per week in order to make enough money for expenses. Thats enough for me to be happy.Got 29 years left on my mortgage. My wife and I have committed to paying off an extra $2k per month on top of the regular repayments, meaning we'll be mortgage free in 14 years, when we're in our mid 40s. Yeah I'd rather retire at age 35 but that's what you get when you waste your entire 20s doing dumb shit.If I could give any young person advice: DO NOT "follow your dreams bro" in your 20s. It's literally the most powerful financial/wealth building time you have due to the power of compounding interest and the dumbest thing you could ever do is waste that opportunity. Just get any job, actually do the work, be patient and invest at least 25% of your income. It genuinely doesn't matter that you're not earning $50k per month as an Assmongold streamer or something. If you do this basic strategy you will outpace all of your peers and retire in your 30s/40s
>>62578850>How are you attainingBitcoin, obv.>enjoyingI'm mostly stuck taking care of my elderly mother, unfortunately. I've done a little travel on my money, tho.
>>62578850cute piggy :3
>>62578853$250k after taxes for the non-mutts
>>62578850>retirement fund with employer match>throw $5k from my net salary into stocks and ETFs>if it weren't for crypto and gold going down I would be up 20% since last August, now barely 3% upI should be done in a decade or less. I'm a frugal man, I don't need more than 60k a year to live.
>>62578850I'm trying to claim VA disability right now. Will get a lawyer if everything doesn't go to plan
>>62579603My wife and I are 27 and already managed to cobble together ~1.5 mil in stocks+bonds (thank you bitcoin). How do we retiremaxx in our 30s?
>>62582823If you're doing that well, wait until around 45 and you'll be pure gold. Probably be closing in on 8-10M or so, at which point you are so far beyond escape velocity you never have to worry ever again.
>>62579475I mean like joining a big company and playing politics, advancing yourself, making enemies, burning bridges. Like the psychopaths in charge of all big companies do. The difference is once you're FI it's just for the fun of it.
>wife>wife>wifeCant beg for a bigger rugpull
>>62582823>~1.5 mil in stocks+bonds (thank you bitcoin).you are goyim, your training wont let you retire regardless of weath, enjoy
>>62582823suck 10 million dicks $1 apiece
>>62578850Living below my means on a relatively high TC with most of it going to VT or long-term holdings of various large caps
>>62578850If I’m 35 and have 150k, and can put 500/week in my brokerage + max my Roth IRA do you guys think I will at worst be “ok” and be able to retire when I’m like 50+ in a SEA shithole? That’s all I want. I just need a large pizza to myself every week, be able to drink beers at the bar and stare off into space people watching, and lay on the beach reading coomer literature. I don’t want to get married or have kids.
>>62578850$300k cash in 3.4% high yield checking account$250k home equity $70k left on 2.6% mortgage$200k 401k appreciated 11% YoY$100k crypto down 33% kek what a meme$50k NVDA up 100% from 1.5 years ago5 years ago I said $600k would be enough but my job and income are pretty good ($170k/yr total compensation $100k/yr counting only post-tax income). But with my low standard of living I could move inland and probably bum indefinitely.
>>62578850>FIPNOLEfinancial independence, post "nigger" on linkedin early
>>62578850i think im just gonna hit 500k then just be a beach hobo in caliwali while it 2x's one more time. ill just start a massage business and only take clients that sound hot on the phone
>>62582986probably not tbqf. Do you have a condo or something in the United States? You need a condo there in whatever country you will round trip to so you can avoid a lot of the nonsense of dealing with foreign landlords. I'd aim for roughly 2 million to retire in cash. Get some sort of shithole condo or townhouse in the united states so you fix your rent here and have somewhere that is a permanent residency in the united states where mail is and so you can maintain your brokerage account this also makes it so when you eventually draw social security and medicare you have a place to return to and get american medical care.
>>62585577Suck my fuckin dick you faggot
>>62585635lol someone hasn't actually thought about how to nomad outside of the US have they
>>62578850i have a lot of money and really want to take a year off but fear the market will crash soon
>>62582986Depends on what you'll spend. My calculations are done on living minimally with a little room for something nice every year or reduced spending during bad times in a lcol area in the US - 24k/yr spending if you already have a home (real data, what I'm currently doing), ~40k/yr if you run a 30 year mortgage on a decent sized property in bfe (perfectly fine with Starlink nowdays imo).No idea what a shithole would be like spending wise, but it can't be more than that...Anyways, at your current savings, 500/week + maxed roth, all into globally diversified ETFs puts you at about 43 if you already have a paid off home or about 48 if not. Social security makes no difference if it even still exists at "retirement" age (greatest scam they ever pulled off after income tax).
>>62582986>$26k per year>15+ years>$390k basis>~$750k in overall valueYou can retire in shithole US states with that, you'll be just fine in SEA.
>>62586058rents are more globalized now in most SEA countries. I had looked last a decade ago for thailand and I remembered it was like a couple hundred bucks a month for a shit apartment and now its like 500-600 usd. I don't think its going to get any cheaper either on housing.
