Ripple has an interest in harming token holders to benefit shareholders (e.g. dumping XRP to buy companies like Hidden Road that don't use XRP but boost Ripple revenue).
Link does not have this at all.
They couldn't be more different.

Do you understand what a company or fiduciary duty is? Lol Chainlink has the same shareholder mandate. The difference is that Ripple is a legitimate onshore business that builds all of its business around XRP which solves a problem. Chainlink built deliberately to leave token holders in the lurch while they collect revenues, meanwhile selling the randomy minted eth token that solves no problems and is just a middleman cost for no reason insofar as it is used at all (they give their customers every opportunity to not use it).

>Do you understand what a company or fiduciary duty is? Lol Chainlink has the same shareholder mandate.
Chainlink doesn't trade its stock, retard.
Until a single share is sold/bought, the private shares are still worth exactly what the founders paid into them at the company's founding.

Ripple actively trades its shares, those shares have an active market price that goes up and down depending on Ripple's revenue.
That means Ripple can buy companies that have nothing to do with the XRP token, but that actively pump the price of Ripple stock.
Chainlink doesn't have this at all.

Chainlink has shareholders, you fucking retard. You don't know business 101 and are forming an entire worldview around not knowing businesses are required to optimize for their shareholders above all else. Multiple banks already use swift. You are strawmanning. Brad said he predicts like 15% of SWIFT traffic on Ripple Payments by 2030 and are an explicit competitor for share who has already been usable by network participants through its partnerships with FedNow service providers, some of which literally run XRPL nodes.

>Chainlink has shareholders
Those shares never moved, they were never sold, you can't buy them.
Until that happens, those shares have literally zero financial interest.

Imagine minting a token on some blockchain, and simply keeping them all in the genesis wallet. That's what CLL's private shares are.
>>
>>62586286
RETARD. That isn't the point I am making. Directors and officers of Chainlink Labs’ entities (including Delaware corporation SmartContract Inc., UK private limited company Chainlink Labs Ltd., and related LLCs) owe fiduciary duties of care and loyalty to the company’s equity holders under applicable corporate law. They are privately held, with founders Sirgay as significant shareholder/controller. Duties run to shareholders/members, not to link token holders, who hold no equity, ownership, or corporate rights in Chainlink Labs with no token-based governance creating such duties. This is true for every single crypto company with a token that doesn't entrench securitized governance structures into the tokens, which can be valuable for investors for this reason but are often not desirable for business models building out around the utility of the technology itself, which some tokens have unlike link.
>>
>gish gallop
>>
>>62586303
Thats a long ass way to say that the toekhen is not needed
>>
>>62586303
The problem here is that Ripple has two groups of investors: shareholders and token holders.
And they only have a fiduciary duty to one of these.

Chainlink does not have ANY investors that are shareholders.

If Chainlink does something that benefits token holders but not shareholders, nobody is going to sue them because they'd be suing themselves.
>>
>>62586305
Proving you wrong isn't gish gallop.
>>62586316

>>
>>62586340
>Chainlink pas private equity investors
They do not.

>Who do you think owns the shares?
The company founders. But they didn't buy those shares; they were issued to them by the corporation at the time of incorporation in exchange for "consideration", which could be many things and doesn't necessarily imply a monetary value ("par value").
>>
>>62586340
>For link agreed though, token not needed.
Literally all that needs to be said where /biz/ and crypto plebs are concerned
>>
>>62586340
>>62586351
>For link agreed though, token not needed.

Again, this applies to XRP. Ripple Prime for instance does not need XRP.
With Chainlink on the other hand, nodes can only be paid in Link.
>>
>>62586358
>can only be paid in Link.
any token or currency --> link -- > dollars
Its a net 0 and you fell for it.
>>
>>62586363
>any token or currency --> link -- > dollars
That last step has always been an option for any crypto node on any crypto chain. And it's not a necessary step.

The only crypto where that last part is a necessary step is XRP when it's used as a "bridge currency":
>any token or currency --> XRP --> any token or currency
here that last step is mandatory, or it's not a "bridge".
>>
>>62586371
>crypto chain
CL is not a chain. There is no other reason to hold the tokn, its use the service, pay operator, operator sells. The service does not need a high tokn price, it functions at 1 cent or 10 dollars all the same.

>>62586371
Except this function demands higher tokn price. As a high token price requires less XRP to move more value.
>>
>>62586386
With Link, nodes have the OPTION to sell their Link rewards if they want; just like any crypto minder/node/validator does.

With XRP as a bridge currency, the XRP must be sold or the bridge is incomplete.
>>
>>62586344
They do. SirGay and Ellis are themselves private shareholders. Forge maintains an open secondary market for accredited investors with past orderbook data showing buy and sell orders:
https://forgeglobal.com/chainlink_stock/

Even if it were just Sirgay, do you realize how much worse that and obviously a scam that would be? They fundraise selling the token. They reward employees (when they are not selling directly from the operator rewards pool that was supposed to be ring fenced to make payroll) with the token and zero equity owing them nothing, while they build the business to benefit shareholders they are overwhelmingly the concentrated majority of? In what way does this speak well of Chainlink? Crypto companies in general have a dutiful obligation shareholders. Sirgay has carte blanche to absorb all profits to himself with very little legal responsibility to anyone else other than Ellis and can freely dump on you and his own employees (which he gives tokens to instead of shares lol). Him being such a substantial holder of it makes it even more egregious when he makes the decisions he has wrt staking, build, etc.. Insane this is your argument or that you would not see this being pointed out coming.
>>
>>62586392
>SirGay and Ellis are themselves private shareholders.
Sirgay and Elise are the company, they are not third parties.
They will not sue themselves for failing to do the bidding of third parties.
>>
>>62586391
The value doesn't absorb through the demand neutral sale structure, it scales through marketmaking and liquidity provider base requirements scaling as use of it does. The more transactions are scaled into, the more that needs bought. And XRP is default used for auto-bridging onchain with by far the most liquid base and the only asset onchain which will have no counterparty or clawback/issuer risk etc, to say nothing of it being used as collateral (particularly when the CEA is amended, impendingly) or its role in actually storing value through tokenization, etc. Ripple have build a full stack solution for exactly this targeting the most viable strategic points (payments with emphasis on international payments but 53 state and territory licenses in the US as well, NYDFS regulated dollar stable, broker dealer using XRPL for post-trade and collateral, treasury payments, with wallet and custody and OCC license, strategic investment in tradfi infrastructure particularly their recent investments, etc.) Have said this dozens of times. XRP solves actual problems and actually increases utility of their core products which function worse without them and is the only asset that can be used to bridge onchain between the walled garden issued assets. link is just a random l2 minted on eth to collect a jewish rent seeking middlemanning fee, and it isn't even being driven to use to clients who can and do opt out and have zero reason to want the extreme volatility risk of holding link. SirGay abandoned holders and then slapped them in the face refusing to address it in the AMA. Staking, build, PAL, etc. All a flop. SIrGay gets it all. It is a tech illiterate greed cult of late normies chasing past trend while all of us sold when it was clear Sirgay was building nothing for token holders and a bunch of retards flooded in forming the petrified form and refused to leave despite being down 70-80% on their averages on average. It is so naked and transparent it is INSANE.
>>
>>62586404
absolutely mindbroke
>>
>>62586396
I did not qualify them as third parties, though as said they do have an open market for shares with past orders to sell and buy. I am pointing out it is even WAY worse than that. He doesn't even have major external interests, he has TOTAL self interest, and complete legal insulation to pursue it to its complete conclusion, jewing even his employees' perks, and there is no obligation to token holders or reason to optimize for them (because the token itself has no utility to drive share price) which he consistently does the opposite of. He is building a software business by selling you tokens, for himself and Ellis and the small cadre of those who acquired shares on the secondary market. Your argument is so low IQ it is insane. I genuinely feel bad for you, it doesn't seem like you see the real structure of things. Glad you have adopted the SirGay spelling though! Lol

Why would they hold?

>XRP must be sold
Yes but a high XRP price is beneficial for the efficiency of sending value.

I will repeat myself. The value of the link token does not matter for the user, nor the node operator. The service is denominated in their local currency and converted to link back to the currency.
>>
>>62586415
Non-argument terminal copers still in hospice.
>>62586425
This. Should have mentioned this. XRP literally works better when price is more stable at a higher price so less needs to be sourced individually and less volatility occurs between transactions (but is still superior to legacy models even in high volatility). Users and marketmakers etc. are allmutually beneficially incentivized to have as high of a price of XRP as possible. Many large corporations and banks are already building very majorly sizable auxiliary businesses for exactly this purpose.
>>
guys just buy XRP okay. Its going to be designated a tier 1 asset by the BIS. The bank of japan is going to raise interest rates and then that will nuke the economy and the only way out of it is a violent repricing of XRP, well over $10k. Look at the partnerships ripple has formed. XRP needs to be at a high value in order for settlement to work. XRP is definitely needed for back end settlement, theres no way counterparties can swap assets without involving XRP as the middleman. JUST BUY XRP GUYS.

>>62586417
the whole thing is gish gallop brainrot.

The simple point is at the end of the XRP-as-bridge-currency transaction, the XRP must be sold. End of story.
Even Ripple themselves admit this is "demand neutral".

>>62586425
>Why would they hold?
Why would anyone hold any crypto reward from mining any crypto?
>>
>>62586532
>Why would anyone hold any crypto reward from mining any crypto?
Your generalisation argument does not address the point.

People hold cryptos because they expect the price to rise..

In LINK’s case, there is no reason why the services provided by Chainlink Labs should increase the value of LINK. Chainlink Labs can provide oracle and interoperability services without those services necessarily requiring users to buy, hold, or spend LINK. Yes, payment abstraction hops any token to link - then back, as said before but that doesnt drive price. As stated, its a 0 sum at the end of the day.

This is especially relevant because token holders were previously told that more advanced forms of staking would eventually be needed to secure the network. So far, that has not materialised in the way originally suggested. It was even scrubbed

Saying that XRP must be sold for a particular payment product to work is not a gotcha. XRP is directly integrated into the XRP Ledger, whereas LINK is designed to operate across multiple chains and is not the native asset of a chain. These are different architectures, so XRP has more direct protocol-level functions on its native ledger.

XRP is used for:
Transaction costs.
Account and ledger-object reserves.
Direct peer-to-peer payments.
Cross-currency payment paths and bridge liquidity.
Escrow subject to time or cryptographic conditions.
Payment channels.
Funding or maintaining objects such as trust lines and DEX offers.
Trading and liquidity on the XRPL’s native exchange and AMMs.
Therefore, XRP has several mandatory or directly embedded uses within the XRP Ledger.

With link its like going to the fair. You can buy the tokens for using everything on the fair, but at the end of the day, you get your prizes, your food but when you leave the fair, you better spend all your fair tickes, they have no other use.

there's a reason drink tickets are used: they're much more convenient and much safer than cash.

Once again, your gay little pseud tantrums have not shown current odl volume, xrp collateral volume, xrp settled Ripple Prime post trade volume, or institutional xrp inventory requirement or any proof that any of that will be happening at scale.

Its just the usual thing - you are simply being asked to provide any sort of concrete proof that xrp is actually being used or will be used in a way that justifies your deranged proselytizing. If you don't have it, then you have absolutely no claim to base your obnoxious and formulaic anti-link spam routine on, or real right to froth at the mouth at anyone raising an eyebrow at Ripple's generally exploitative treatment of a gullible, desperate, and financially / technologically illiterate retail market where xrp is concerned.

At least link's token actually has a reason to be acquired by speculators as it has a defined role in the network’s payment, staking, and security model which will lead to supply lockup and price appreciation at scale.

Xrp on the other hand only has an old and relatively tiny cumulative ODL receipt from 2022 as an example of use, a laughably negligible transaction fee / reserve mechanism relative to the supply, and then competition which has already eaten up xrp's technical moat over the last several years now... and this is *before* you even dare to try to compare it to something with a separate purpose like link, or link's use cases via the officially planned integrations (swift dtcc etc) surrounding the network.

Just face it, Ripple has already pivoted to RLUSD as its primary crypto product while using the proceeds it got from fleecing retail with xrp to buy things that don't use xrp. You can bark and piss and moan all you want, but frankly you should just shut up about anything besides how you're planning to buy actual shares in Ripple at this point loooool.

Dude this is just endlessly the same shit. I have replied to literally every thing you have asked for excessively in dozens of therads. You just pivot and pretend prior threads never happened and gush and gush saying the same shit over and over and over. You don't even understand the thesis of XRP or how stables are key to it as it pertains to walled gardens, differently denominate/issuer/collateral backed assets, etc. You have never made a single good point in any thread and always spend paragraphs saying nothing or just pretending the prior threads never happened and trying to preemptively project in the next thread to run cover for the next iteration. Anyone who doesn't believe me can see this thread as an example. Lol It is literally months of the same thing over and over without a single win for you:

>Third parties
It literally is inarguably way worse that Sirgay holds the vast bulk, and there are third parties, namely Sirgay is similarly legally required to act on behalf of Ellis, who is a third party to him, and to external buyers of secondary market sold shares, who exist. Your argument makes zero sense.
>gish gallop deflection
Robustly proving you wrong in a paragraph on an informal platform where you have infinite time to respond and spend hours every single day spamming argument avoidance instead of doing so is not gish gallop. Have argued literally dozens of therads proving you specifically wrong on every claim you made, detailing how the mechanism by which XRP appreciates specifically in payments (to say nothing of collateral, tokenization, etc.) isn't the auction mechanic or the burns, it is the liquidity infrastructure requiring a huge scaling in those holding it to be avaiable to use as payments scale. Have thoroughly described this in dozens of threads which you have then avoided and then jumped back in the next thread and pretended never happened, LITERALLY dozens of times. For anyone interested to read, here is one of them. You are objectively wrong in such an insanely intentionally poor way it is kind of unbelievable that someone would be so given to fudding and the best they can do is deliberately misunderstand the core chief purpose of XRP on ledger in payments and view onchain stablecoin success as not a massive vindication of the point of XRP (to bridge issuer/different numeraire denominated walled gardens and RWAs etc.) and to genuinely not understand how market making/liquidity provider reserve requirements work. Lol:

>Ellis, who is a third party to him
He's not, they're both part of the same company.
That's the relevant part: Ripple is beholden to a whole list of parties from outside the company: their shareholders.

You're trying way too hard to squeeze water from this rock. You're either a Ripple shareholder or a legitimately brain damaged XRP holder.

>gay little pseud tantrums
Projection at its finest. I know you got a little triggered and were seething when you typed this post. The ad hominem points really make you look like you are ''winning'' the argument.

I accept your defeat, you deflecting back to XRP while you do not manage to tackle 1 single point I made about your chucky cheese tokens says enough.

>network’s payment
debunked, its a hop in and hop out, doesnt create buying pressure as its a net 0. 4th time
>staking
V0. still out, no improvement in sight
>security model
What was pitched was connected to improved staking, they are carrots, they havent delivered, stop using outdated talking points as an argument. This is Enron tier marketing speak.

XRP and Ripple draw you in like a fly to a turd and its absolutely fascinating to see how in every single link thread you either mention XRP/Ripple or in every ripple/XRP thread you post the most hilarious nonsense. At this point your sole reason of being is to FUD xrp and shill link. I really hope you dont do this stuff for free.

>pivoted to RLUSD
And soon its market cap will also overtake CL. Thats 2 ripple products that are above CL and another eyesore for you to wake up to.

Ripple on the other hand has untold amounts of external shareholders to whom they are beholden. But not to their token holders.

Nah. You have never once provided:
current odl volume, xrp collateral volume, xrp settled Ripple Prime post trade volume, or institutional xrp inventory requirement or any proof that any of that will be happening at scale.

You are simply being asked to provide any sort of concrete proof that xrp is actually being used or will be used in a way that matches your cultish braying. Show any real documents or agreements that map out a direct relationship between XRP (which isn't interchangeable with everything else Ripple does, I'm asking specifically about EX AR PEE: THE TOKEN,) and this huge supply lockup / collateralization proposition that you dumb animals keep pretending definitely exists.

You simply can't and we all know it. Hence why you immediately retreated into your oblivious little fantasy worlds where you're making meta-claims about "hundreds of threads" where you actually failed to do anything except get completely obliterated by what should be pretty simple to answer questions, because any sort of real aggregate usage metrics for XRP is something that Ripple would safely provide for the sake of XRP marketing without violating all the "just trust me dude: NDA" bullshit theories you invent to compensate for not having any real proof. You even provided a link to a prior thread where you used the EXACT SAME evasive and dishonest tactics as before: trying to use the xrp token interchangeably with anything that mentions Ripple the company, much like a tranny plays word games with terms like "sex" and "gender" to justify his pathetic delusions.

I keep asking for "the same shit," because you clowns never have anything which answers my actual questions. So go on, try to slither around it again in the usual obvious ways. When I'm bored ill keep pointing it out and just ask the same thing until I get a real answer or you can just stay in your marketing containment general where you belong.
