I'm 29 and I have ~290,000€ in my bank account and I'd like to start investing, but I've never done so in my life.
Where do I start? What do I buy? I want to invest in something safe for retirement.

I live in Germany if that matters.

Buy 50% in a broad market ETF either the S&P 500 or a top 100.
25% in a classic dividend ETF, one that pays about 3.5% but grows that by 10% a year.
25% into a high yield covered call ETF something that pays 10-16% dividends.
That should pay you about 15,000 a year in dividends.
Use whatever tax advantaged accounts your government has given you.

Once a month log into your account and buy more stocks with your dividends. Don't worry about it day to day. Pic related, can happen in reverse in a single day.

With dividend investing I look at bills and payments as a expression of months of investing to cover that bill. So $450 for a condo fee that includes, heating, water/sewer, lawncare, structure insurance (you get the idea). That will cost me about 11 months of dedicating my "growth" dividends into covering that.

If I make a mental package that says condo fees, after 11 months of investing all my returns that is enough money to cover that cost plus inflation rises in the future forever. I have one for internet / communication that's 3.5 months. Electricity is 3 months. Property taxes is 3 months. Food is 12 months.

And once I do this for all my costs that takes care of all my bills forever.

It doesn't change anything from having a total monthly budget and then matching that to a total sum of my dividends, but it makes me less angry about bills when I can say this bill that will last forever stops being an expensive in 4 months time.

With 300K Euro you have more than enough money to cover all your bills with dividend payments and leave you with growth without using any employment income to boost it.

I am currently looking at iShares Core MSCI World UCITS ETF, but I'll converse with a few people IRL if there's a reason to go for another world ETF.

Thanks all.
