because the dollar is useless and the amount they give doesn't even outpace inflation
>>
>>62593117
they're only paying 5.2%. that's basically the real rate of inflation if you do a personal accounting for inflation with receipts for identical goods purchased 1 year apart (i.e., you don't rely on the jewish nonsense peddled by the CPI.)
>>
>>62593117
5.2% free money for 30 years? wtf thats op
>>
>>62593117
cuz i can get 10x/yr with soxl, jnug, and tqqq
>>
>>62593123
its interesting the "real rate" seems to go up every few months here. I have unironically see people saying the ACTUAL inflation is something like 10-15%. I cant take you retards serious.
>>
>>62593471
this is a bot post.

Hahahaha! The moment when interest on the debt exceeds all revenue is looming ever-closer. And the closer it gets the faster it approaches because the rats will start jumping ship. With any luck I will live to see the collapse of the corrupt American empire. What a glorious time to be alive.
>>
>Buy my shit that's about to collapse
No, no I don't think I will.

>cuz i can get-
But do you. Let's be honest here. Do you get that?
Not shilling US government bonds. Funding genocide, international terrorism, corporate and billionaire kickbacks, etc is not morally right.
BBB bonds are better anyway.

How much is a $1 double hamburger in 2026 at the Golden Arches? Interpolate REAL inflation from that
>>
i dont want to be exposed to USD
>>
>>62593802
What makes them $1 burgers?
>>
>>62593123
Real inflation is 4x higher
>>
>>62593802
>Americans can't even explain finance without using burgers as a unit of measurement.
>>
>>62593117
It's even odd that US bonds seem like they're being shilled like shitcoins. No one was broadcasting to small "dumb" money investors like this years ago. Something is cracking up lol
>>
>>62593117
it doesn't keep up with inflation
>>
>P-Please buy my bags!
How about no
>>
>>62593117
In the 80s, at the peak, a 30 year bond yielded 15%.
That, going all in on the peak, would have to be the best risk-adjusted investment.
>>
>>62593117
They're lower than inflation

at that time yes, but now US debt and deficits are much higer
>>
>>62593117
>invest in bonds
>two weeks pass
>trump signs an executive order declaring the US free of all debts
>money lost
I will wait for the next presidency before considering any investments into the US
>>
>>62593117
I was but they were losing value every day so I swapped to VDE and I've already made $200 in 3 days.
>>
>>62593679
But I approve of the bombing of muslims in The Middle East so I buy US bonds

It's going to get worse before it gets worse. It's not like anyone is running on austerity, dems and DSA want more money fo dem programs and taxes on billionaires to pay for some of it. They cannot cut government spending any better than Trump could, worse because it was carried out by retards it was billed as an attack on democracy to be reversed. These retards think they can just go back to the neoliberal world order as if bond yields are only responding to the past 24 months of behavior.

Worse yet the ones that understand, regardless of affiliation, know that any real fix is political suicide and the only way to make it in and out cleanly is to get broad support reward their base and punish their opposition and leave the mess to the next regime.

We had 8 years of Obama, 4 Biden and 6 Trump; in that entire time our energy generatiom has been completely flat. If green energy alone was sufficient we wouldn't be on the precipice of blackouts nation wide. Do you think the violent shift back left is going to permit anything other than a few more windmills and solar panels? Its relevant because it is a hard cap on our GDP and reciepts growing. Printing is the only universal bipartisan act in our future and if the debt isn't used to create infrastructure we're fucked.
>>
>>62593660
And it's the same in most western countries
>>
>>62595770
They're deregulating SMRs for data centers.

Energy production is going up just not for (you)
>>
>>62593123
Why dont they check actual money supply to calculate the inflation rate?
>>
>>62593117
i have bought bonds
people don't seem to realize that if rates go down then you can sell your immature bonds for more than you purchased them
>>
>>62596891
Unless default, and it looks more and more like default is the only exit for after the midterms, outside of civil war as a result of devaluing the currency to shtting paper status
>>
>>62593117
Because I am not a bank. A bank bought 30-year treasuries and uses them as collateral to borrow money short-term with a lower rate. So, banks actually care about the spread between the long-end rate and the short-term rate.

Im sticking with short term treasuries because it looks like its going to get worse
>>
>>62597663
Kek the us will not default. What is more likely is rates go up means current bond holders bought a bag of dogshit
>>
>>62597706
From the central planning committees perspective a default is a better deal than rates going ballistic. In any case, the creditors are going to be fucked and as the creditors are banks and (pension) funds by proxy the population everyone loses
