I looked into it and it turns out bus drivers pay for accident damage out of their own pocket, the free training is actually not free and you become an indentured slave for 3 years or pay it in full if you quit earlier, and you work 3 shifts. Also, the managers are all nepo baby dickheads. Only upside is drivers not having to interact with people anymore because there's ticket machines inside of buses.I suppose a school bus driver doesn't have to deal with 3 shift work but dealing with retarded kids and their parents, and the potential lawsuits from flinging one across the bus during an accident, is actually fucking worse.

This investment rate is only a recent thing too, as I was working to save my emergency fund. I’m also changing jobs soon and will be making closer to $170k in a LCOL area. So I plan on maxing out my 401k and saving for a house down payment. Do not be envious, I am 40 and still renting.
