I just bought a lottery ticket, with a top prize of £45 million. How can you live smartly off a lottery win?

You like that genius right lol got u

if you win the government going to try and tax you for 90% of the win. there are ways around this if you live in the us but i don't know the rules in ingerland. maybe buy monero and a plane ticket to hong kong.

The prize is already after deductions.

Buy your dream house and your dream car, but buy only one of each. That should leave you with at least 40 million. Invest it all. Don't live like a rich dude because 45 million only takes you so far and is far easier to lose than you think. Don't try to impress people.
You can stop working if you want, and live with what your money is producing. 40 million invested should give you a very decent monthly allowance. If you're not gaining money every month you're doing it wrong.
If you need to give money to your family and friends, give them a decent amount but make it very clear that it's a one time occurence. You will lose some friends, might even lose family, but trust me, those people are not worth keeping, they will suck you dry.
Last thing : if you're not working, get a hobby, having no hobby when you're wageslaving is understandable. When you have all your free time it's sad.

I wouldn't want to use the prize and just live off the dividends. Perhaps I could use some of it to hire a family office or a reputable accounting or tax law firm to help me minimise my tax liability

Oh nooo he might only have $20 million for buying a lottery nooo the horror

>I wouldn't want to use the prize and just live off the dividends
What do you want to do then? Just buy stuff until you're broke?

I wouldn't want to use the prize. I would prefer to live off just the dividends

Surprisingly in Bongland, the government won't touch your winnings.
>they are only bothered to fuck with you if you actually work for your money

There are books on that topic. One is: The Sudden Wealth Solution by Robert Pagliarini. It's been a long time since I read it, but IIRC most of it would be applicable outside the US.

The best meta-advice is probably to slow down and plan things out. There's no need to rush. If you rush, you'll probably do something stupid.

My bad, then yes, get actual counseling to reduce your taxes

Stupid tax rigged by Jews. Jeffery Epstein won multiple times. Winners are always kikes or child rapist Freemasons.
