>have a boring as fuck white collar job and a year's worth of living costs in cash
>daydream about being NEET and how I'd live such a freewheeling life of holidays and going to the cafe and gym at 1 pm and starting Twitch streaming and claiming disability

Does anyone else daydream like this? I don't even work hard and I work mostly from home. I consider myself a wageNEET. But untethered payoff space life feels so appealing.

I now remember being unemployed post-college as my glory days. One day I randomly drove to a park and, because it was cold, an artificial lake had an icy surface and I started grabbing pieces of it, throwing them, and watching them smash. I remember a blazingly hot day when I was unemployed in London for a few months, walking through a park while listening to Cum Town.

I remember the disgust and shame after seeing my first ever full time paycheck, because of the tax taken off of it. But I felt pride when I got NEETbux.

The older I get, the more nostalgic I become because of how shitty this timeline is becoming. The early 2000s were great years to be alive but I would rather go back to the 90s. 9/11 really fucked things up on a global scale. Not just that but everything just progressively got worse and society continued degrading from there.

But yea early 2000s I had a comfy part time job close to my house and the work/life balance was perfect. I had enough free time to do whatever I wanted without feeling rushed and the job I had was physically demanding so it kept me in shape. It was also a time when the internet was still fresh and gaming was good. I genuinely feel bad for the newfags who had to grow up around social media and 24 hour news cycles. Society is irreversibly fucked

Go fuck yourself and be grateful. I have to go clock in at a job where I do nothing for 8 hours.

Do you know how fucking annoying that feels? I literally don’t do anything for 8 hours but I have to go physically commute somewhere and stay there for 8 hours

That's the worst part. It just keeps getting worse every fucking day and it only makes me miss the past even more.
>bro just learn to move on
The kids saying this shit will never understand wtf life was like. You can't just move on from that while the present just continues to get worse. It's fucking impossible

I only got my ever first job 2-weeks before my 24th birthday since my girlfriend at the time pressured me into helping her pay the bills, but before that I was just fucking around for years without a care in the world. I should have just dumped my girlfriend back then and continued fucking around instead of getting stuck on the hamster wheel.
