I'm a father now. I grew up in a poor family in the South Florida ghettos. Having "drive/ambition" came very naturally. I hated the environment and people that I had to be around. But I made something of myself and am financially decent. My child will be able to attend private school and my wife will be able to support them in extra curricular activities like sports. The only thing I worry about, is my children's ambition/drive. Mine came from necessity, where will theirs come from? How do I get them to want more for themselves from a financial standpoint? Everything I've built, I'd like to leave it for them. But I need to know they won't squander it and fuck it up.

Be involved in their lives and don’t give them whatever they want. It will take more than putting them in a good school for them to be successful. Ultimately it will depend on the type of person they are. Lots of people grow up in the ghetto and they have no drive to better themselves.
>>
>>62626618
Have them take a few OCEAN BIG 5 tests.
>>

Motivation?
You grew up poor and hated the material world and you set out to conquer it.

You're honest but hardly seem like the generous type. Also, it's only in this case that you seem to be honest with your wants.

Why don't you tell us why you are worried?
>>
>>62626652
I'm worried because I would like to recreate my drive in them. If they had it, I know they would use the resources they have to their fullest ability. They would take our family and entrench it into the upper class for the next few generations.
>>
>>62626618
you have to train them to work for what they want, dont hand it to them.
>>
>>62626618
they will never have your drive and they will squander your wealth like most generations who inherited money they had no business having.

>Statistically, 70% of wealthy families lose their wealth by the second generation, and 90% lose it by the third generation.

yes I understand you are that one single anomaly and you will make sure your children will be different blahblah.
>>
Your standards are too high. Just be glad if you're kids don't end up wiggers with teenage pregnancies.
Why do you want your kids to struggle and associate with the rabble? Let the goyim deal with the real world.
>>
>>62626742
I have trained my cat as well. Although, I wouldn't show just anyone the ques for it because they might break the spell by fucking it up.
>>
>>62626725
Then do it. Don't feed them, send them to school in dirty clothes. Start drinking or doing drugs around them and hit them. Verbally abuse them. Do to them what you had and worse, because that will actually make them turn out to be President. What if they achieve anything less? Then you're an utter failure.

Hope this helps.

I mean, did the journey teach you to control the material or did it control you. Also, the changes you made on your way up matter.

The touchstones you created are for teaching while being raised.

>>62626784
This is a deeper issue. One that I have vicarious experience with. Helping these types without taking advantage, leaving them more vulnerable, or destroying them ; is a challenge.

Hardship can be taught through competition. If the competition is unfair, it will teach other lessons.
>>
>>62626618
Wtf is wrong with you?
Just buy them everything they want. Fucking retard.
>>
>>62626821
This isn't r/NewParents toots. You're fuckin stupid.
>>
>>62626855
No, but it is the topic of conversation.
Would you prefer to talk about money and women?
The praying mantis eats the head off their mates.
The social hierarchy of hyenas places the the status of the top male behind the bottom female. Spiders eat their mates for additional nutrition. Monogamy within the animal kingdom is somewhat rare among species. Wolves, for example: the alphas are monogamous but their the only ones that mate. Monkeys are highly polyamorous but they're extremely violent. There's only a few animals that I would want to be like.
What kind of creature does that make you?

Wait a bit anon. I'm not too worried, got three now, all boys. The oldest is 5 and the middle one that's only 3 both already have plenty of drive and ambition. My biggest concern is really just their sensitive young man period, which the oldest at least is almost certainly going to go through. I will be much more proactive than my father was in explaining things about girls and helping him through the tfwnogf period.

>>62626618
Have your kid get a basic job as soon as they're able to work. It helps teach kids the value of money and how much it takes to get a certain amount, this should help against being a profligate spender. Also, don't just buy em whatever he/she wants, but have them earn the big stuff.

Ambition really only works if your kid is a boy. Having him be a wagie for a bit can kickstart his drive to not have to do that shit again.
A girl, and best bet is have her snag a wealthy man for a husband when she comes of age.

Richfag from a rich family here, my parents are extremely competitive and crushed my ego whenever I failed at anything. When I grew up (>14) they started directly competing with me, telling me I was trash at anything I did, and making fun of me when I didn't know something. That drove me to push my limits at an academical and sports level.
>>
>>62627088
Wow, you have a lucky existence. Like on of those white Quarterbacks that have 2 parent households.
>>
>>62626618
Ambition is for cucks constantly chasing new goals and never being satisfied.

Unfortunately, you will waste your life working for something as shallow as material things and status. Hopefully your kids are smarter than you and can actually enjoy the money you leave behind when you die of a heart attack in your 60s.

Father of two. My daughter of 7 is just like I was, super clever, type A, ojou, and I know she has it in her. The boy is 3, we'll see. While we're no aristocrats, we're a trad family that's largely removed from goyim crap. I'm teaching them logic, economy, business, strategy, game theory, the corporate world, investing, and some (classic) culture and refinement, and I'm motivating them to develop agency and independence. I started with my daughter; there usual reward system? Mine has weekly deposits, convertibility with volume discount, inflation, sales, and she grasps it. I try to make everything nice sound like a reward. I talk to her about my work and my business, the art of buy low and sell high, I show my disgust for lowlifes very openly (not "do not smoke" but "ew, disgusting", not "gambling ist verboten" but "fucking idiot, what's the expected value of that?" and yes, I'm teaching her such concepts and of course maths from very early on, and she could read licence plates aloud at 3; I've turned even videogames into a strategy debate - archers shoot money, shield skills are free HP recovery, etc.), I'm starting to use the word "goyim" sparingly and she's starting to see we're not like most people. Oh and an intense distrust of "the president" (the bad guy in all my bedside tales) and his folks.
Basically raising her to outkike the kikes, the difference being I also teach her family values, the love for life and nature, and that the meaningful things in life are not bought, but money makes living easy and safe if you work hard and are not a stupid goyim. This, at the core of a loving, functional family who eats and dines together and sticks together all the time, is the easy part, and they can see we have zero stress (other than the little boy and their mischief...).

Of course she goes to a private school, and we'll try to keep her away from tattooed drug dealers and their parties and all that rotten crap; we're a good family. My parents used disgust and example, not prohibition, and it worked for me and my brother.
I'll do what I can not to spoil her and keep making her earn it, get a job (no adventure tourism startup with daddy's money), then we'll talk business. She also knows I could probably just not work save for managing my assets yet she still sees me working as a successful engineer and boss, this is very good for her to see and I don't plan to retire anytime soon if work continues to be fun. She also sees me watching charts, writing spreadsheets and laughing at biz memes. She still doesn't understand why I laugh at everything whether good or bad. She's starting microinvestment in her teens.
