Birthrates are low because people spend 20 years in school to end up working a mediocre 9-5 with mandatory overtime that is often unpaid and women want none of that+feminism in japan enables women to be streamers and whores and make free money when they're young, then they turn 30 or so and start being really pathetic even trying to marry foreigners because foreigners don't care as much about the big 3-0.
