Do you think you would fit in if you made it?

I went to Nantucket and was talking to a couple at a restaurant with my wife. When I told them we were both doctors and they were honestly disgusted. Wealth is something you have, not earn. It's a different culture than what normal people are used to. Making it isn't pedigree. A similar thing is how Americans value someone being a lawyer but in other countries lawyers aren't held in high esteem because they work hard.
>>

Depends. You're not going to fit in with old money (3rd gen or more of generational wealth). You'll fit in fine with new money though.
>>
I don't want to fit in. The point of making it is never interacting with another human being again. I've got pretty far by quitting my job and getting all my groceries delivered. Unfortunately they still expect you to meet the delivery driver if you have alcohol in the order.
I also like bowling, which raises a couple of issues. Putting a bowling lane in your house is way more expensive than you probably expect, and there is maintenance on top of it. Bowling could be considered a "single player game" but the other bowlers are quite important. Each shot thrown picks up and moves around the oil on the lane. You cannot achieve a true bowling experience by yourself.

Yeah I would mog them. Remember 90% of people are losers regardless of millions or billions or anything.

>When I told them we were both doctors and they were honestly disgusted

its cuz you're indian
>>
>>62643663
how exactly would you mog them? you think you can impress them with knowledge about pleb work, pleb culture, pleb dating/pickup? these people have their own close circle of old money, nepo baby friends. they are used to everything being handed to them. the more you try the less they will respect you.

Doctors are losers and gives off loser energy. Male doctor = dork. Female doctor = female loser.

1. I see nothing extraordinary about flying your dog to a vet you trust.
2. Presuming a "skip" is some sort lf trash receptacle, you are more than welcome to claim it and make a good turn around. They are probably too busy to deal with trying to offload it elsewhere and clearly don't need the money. The author appears to be more attached to these material items than the family is.
3. It's great that they chose the bespoke route. Bespoke supports trye craftsmen and artists. It keeps the craft alive. As nice as it is that products can be mass produced so as to be available to everyone, you should really consider this if you can afford.
As for the notion that security means they are hiding something sketchy... This just sounds ridiculous. The author probably has locks on their home as well. You know people also have panic rooms
Maybe they wanted a little extra security without going to far as installing something like that. You really don't know and clearly this author didn't ask. Just made assumptions to blast on reddit.
4. This is the least interesting story yet. Not sure why the person posted it. Somebody hired you to watch the kids whole the adults had a gathering and paid you well for your services. That's nice.
5. The author appears to have discovered logistics. Did you know Amazon pays full time staff just to receive returns?
Running a large household with staff requires supplies and ongoing maintenance. The owner's home is not meant to be their job. It is simply a part of running an estate. You need staff. You need supplies.
The fact that we not have such conveniences as Amazon is great. Prior to this, they would have probably required even more staff to go purchase and transport those items.

I would literally just read and hike and play Vidya all day of I was free from the curse of (((work))).

What's the point of being rich if you still interact with people?
>>
>>62643826
This is what separates them from you. You would waste your life with fleeting diversions if given the opportunity. A wealthy man sees the opportunity to pursue greater works and does so.
>>
>>62643586
My parents were very wealthy so sure. If anything though more working class people are more sensitive and judgemental than vice versa. Just don't be garish and be open to eating a variety of food and that's literally 95% of the battle of fitting in in better circles.

My wife's parents are basically retardo benefits claimants and even then it's mostly only given away when they get scared if a menu doesn't have curry or pizza and they just order bread alone to cope.

nope. hate golf, hate most fancy foods like fois gras and caviar, hate being stuck on a yacht, hate wine, hate ballet, hate opera, hate tennis, hate tiny apartments high up in the sky that sway back and forth in the wind, hate dressing fancy, hate watches, hate jewelry, hate horseback riding, hate fancy cars that go too fast, hate driving stick, hate motorcycles. the only thing that i have in common with rich people is i hate speaking to people, which would mean i would never speak to any other rich people

enslaving more wagies, making more money and fucking kids on private islands? wow such great work lmao retard

>providing wagies who do bare minimum in all things
Ingrate.
>>

>If anything though more working class people are more sensitive and judgemental than vice versa
Maybe, I think working class people are more forward with their disdain for their betters while upper class people know there is a distinct difference but wouldn't outwardly show it since that would be in poor taste.

I would really love to be the pilot for one of these people. Hopefully a really adventurous one that likes to explore uncharted areas of the world or something. Dream job right there, wouldn't even have to pay me I'd just be along for the ride, and flying the plane of course.

>he thinks goal of making it is to fit in with rich retards
NO ANON, unlike the tiktok zoomzoom majority of us want to experience freedom, most of us don’t want fucking private jets, or 20 luxury cars in our basement. There is a reason ads don’t work on us, and same reason make us don’t care. Although I say, if a private jet or a car have a utility value of getting girls, then yes we all do it lol
But honestly, I think we just wanna be free without breaking our brain and backs working.
>>62643628
Exacto bro. We wanna be free of burden of fitting in and do our own shit, not to just jump back into another rigid structure that is honestly pointless to even exist
>>62643853
>hurr durr great work
I know several rich people, all they do is play golf on Tuesday, hangout with friends and that’s it.
And those are good ones, the rest get into bullshit, endless unnecessary drama and stress
Even in old time, only a tiny minority of aristocrats became patron of science and art, majority just did fuck all>
>>
>>62643605
>they were honestly disgusted
WTF, never met rich people who looked down on fucking doctors, and I've known some 9 figure nw ppl. I'm guessing that couple was larping. Or they're supremely new money and got their wealth through scams or were just handed everything, and are very insecure about the source of their wealth.
Or they made it from /biz/.

Based. You need to live like within 30 miles of either a defunct bowling center or a place that is getting an upgrade soon. Buying the lanes/equipment new is astronomical, especially for a 2 lane personal endeavor. Plus, you need to retrofit your house or build around that shit. If you find a place thats selling the old equipment for pennies on the dollar you could probably make that happen for less than an in ground swimming pool. Also
>less zoning headache cause its inside
