> be me> complex childhood trauma> autism> grew up country, recently moved to big city> no friends or partners> apply for a part time job in a sales and marketing company to test how well you can adapt to stressful and unfamiliar environments> somehow make it through the interview> somehow make it through the trial day> they expect you to go door to door in suburbs and convince people to sign up for charity> job is cutthroat, watch several long term employees get the boot in your first week> everyone's constantly testing me> struggle to make sales in the first few days there> realize you're unable to personally connect to the average neurotypical person> practice speaking in the mirror every night> pray you improve fastI feel like I'm missing something big and important.Anons in sales, how do you do it?
>>62653600If you're not interested in the thing you're trying to shill to these 'customers', you'll never make it.
>>62653600That’s not a real job brother.
>>62653629I'm actually a big fan of the conceptThe campaign dontions don't get leeched off by expensive parketing teams and are subsidized by state money so there's a lot of help going to people with comparably minimal donor effort.
>>62653635It's not my main job. I do this mostly to train social skills and confidence
>>62653600That's not a real job.
>>62653646Interesting. I guess if it’s for a charity you actually believe in and have proof the money gets used properly it is a net good. Keep improving anon. I just don’t want you and your time to be taken for granted.
>>62653642Your job is to talk your 'customers' in to supporting the thing you are shilling. Just explain why you believe in the thing and they'll either ask for more information or tell you to shove off. Most people's willingness to listen to unsolicited sales now-a-days is at an all time low so rejection is normal. If you know your subject matter and are interested in it, it should be no problem to share your view of it with your target demographic. But I hate all sales and marketing anyways, it's just lies dressed up to appease the ego of the target and separate them from their money. I told that to a GF of mine a while ago, and she said 'So you hate me?', hahaha turns out her past was all sales and marketing.
>>62653698lol, your gf sounds like a fun personyeah, it's a really bad time in the world to be asking for people's attention of all things. Maybe that's why I wanted to try this, just to jump into the cold water.
