How do I stop caring about work? There's too much and I can't do it all but then feel bad if I miss something. There's a constant push pull to just quickly check some box off, even if it is half assed. Then if that comes back to bite me I'm meant to feel bad because it was my judgment call.Somewhere along the line it became my job to be my own manager and desu I almost don't even want that to change because then I have some fag telling me what to do. But I spend half my day planning and making sure I haven't overlooked something and it's driving me insane. >create impossible conditions >empower wagie to pick from two bad options >when it goes well take credit>when it goes wrong blame wagieI know it's set up this way on purpose to mind rape us into working more hours. Sometimes I work 12+ hours just because I'm so stressed it's all I think about and I wouldn't even be able to enjoy anything else. And I know they'd discard me in an instant as it nearly happened over the vaxx.

>>62654276Imagine a wild circus street in the year 1900: crooked wooden signs, gas lamps flickering through the fog, brass bands blaring out of tune, painted clowns shouting from balconies, horses dragging rattling wagons over the cobblestones, and thousands of people pushing through the chaos, all trying to reach the same destination. That is life.We are all like sperm in the greatest race imaginable. Thousands are released into the chaos, each one moving desperately toward a single goal. They fight through obstacles, compete against thousands of others, and keep going as if victory is guaranteed. Every one of them is convinced, in its own tiny way, that it might be the one that makes it.But nature has written a brutal rule into the script: only one gets through. One reaches the egg. One succeeds. The thousands upon thousands behind it are rejected, discarded, and forgotten. There is no consolation prize, no second-place ceremony, no medal for trying. The race simply ends for them. And perhaps that is the uncomfortable truth about existence. From the very beginning, we were thrown into a competition where the odds were absurdly against us. We survived one enormous lottery simply by being born, yet once here, we enter another endless circus of competition—money, status, love, success, recognition, survival. We dress ourselves in different costumes, play different characters, and pretend the circus is orderly. But underneath the makeup and the noise, we are still contestants racing toward whatever we believe will finally make us “the winner.”Some will reach their goal. Many will not.The clowns will laugh, the band will keep playing, the wagons will roll down the street, and the crowd will move on as if nothing happened. This is nature. This is the circus. And somehow, against impossible odds, we are all here.
>>62654299I wish I could do that. I can say to myself "whatever" but I'm still ruminating on it. It's partly because I am in a position that I have to justify with results but there's also a lot of make work that has to get done too. >>62654323Yeah hard work is cucked, basically no gain, and nobody respects you for it either, usually the opposite. I can't believe I let it happen to me. It's like my reward system is fucked and now I only think about work tasks.
>>62654276I have been with this company for nearly 20 years and I’m about done with it desu. We have went through new management a couple times and it’s gotten worse each time. More workload, less support, and zero credit for any of the good work you do. It feels like Office Space playing out. It’s good money but the cons of being here outweigh the pros. I checked out around 2 years ago and it’s starting to show in the work that I do. There hasn’t been a day in those 2 years where I haven’t thought about quitting. I can’t care even if I wanted to. I have become anhedonic and apathetic. I literally don’t fucking care about any of it nor do I have the drive to try anymore. At this point I will probably end up getting fired.
>>62654276Nigger how is it possible that you even care about work to begin with? The only time you care about your work is if you directly reap the benefits of it or you own the business. It is your job to do the bare minimum to not get fired and your job and no more. There is no such thing as going above and beyond and promotions are a thing of the past, except giving you more work at the same pay. Your pay raise was set by a budget committee a year ago. You cannot earn more without being on commission.
>>62654510Yeah our structure is all retarded too. I guess I just find it hard to tell people to fuck off since I don't actually have a singular manager delegating work there's a bunch of people to keep happy and I have to pick what I can actually do, there isn't enough time for everything.>>62654536I don't know, it's not rational. I did look for new jobs but bombed the interviews so I just think if I lose this then I'm fucked.
