I've been actively swing trading for the last 4 months, before that I was just using Index funds. I am up 31% YTD from around 15% when I started in June. Is it luck? I am a genius? Will I make it? Trading in my Roth, btw. Including my controbution for the year I am up 44% YTD.

>>62664340its a risk/reward thingyou made some lucky plays on momentum stocks and made big gains, but what happens when you buy the peak and are forced to hold while it starts a downcycleWhat happens when the entire market enters a recession.Your return is 2x but what you don't realize is that your risk is up 2x as well and maybe more. After a few losses you might realize your returns as the same as a momentum ETF.
>>62664356He has no gains
>>62664430>not sharing your plays and gains with your /biz/familyreally anon wtf man super not cool
>>62664340>beat market by 10%>have to pay 15% more capital gains tax
>>62664340>coins go upSaaaar i am genius!
>>62664340You're officially a genius until you make a bad trend and end up 5% down, but then it's just bad luck and you just need to open another trade and make 5% to breakeven that also goes bad and now you're 15% down, but fear not, you're a genius, make two good trades and you're back to break even. So on and so forth.
>>62664340The reality is 31% in a year is not sustainable. If you're just naively swing trading, then, yes, you got lucky. Take some money off the table and scale your positions down to a smaller size. Don't try and stack your gains.
>>62664340you need more time. if your account is always up and to the right maybe you have some edge.
>>62664340You are going to lose it all. You're gambling.
