I work in the vidya industry as a programmer and I got reported to HR for saying writers should swim in deeper waters than the audience, I was asking one of the writers on lunch what they were reading and they said they mainly watched movies and I said don't you think it would help your work to read like Tolstoy or Dante etc and I thought I was having a conversation not being hostile or critisizing their work but trying to be helpful

>>62672692That double negative is gay, let me rephrase:Only tell others how to do their work if you are their superior.
>>62672687Depends, what is the depth of writing they need to achieve for their work? You don't learn other programming languages outside of the ones required for your current work unless you want to change job right?
>>62672687how does someone get a job as a writer if they don't read books? that's nuts.
People are petty and don't like being told anything that remotely sounds like they are doing something wrong.
>>62672687Studio? Publisher? Platform?
>>62672687>they said*she said
>>62672687>I thought I was having a conversation not being hostileI assume you're autistic
